一二月十五日御用部やへ諸月番呼出御用番荻野左近方御書付左之通被相渡候
一昨春霊岸嶋御屋敷御類焼御普請を始万端御入増御勝手向
御不馳通ニ付同年ゟ御家中半減御借米被仰出候処一同質素相守
神妙之至ニ思召候然処種々御心を被為配御改革之御趣法を以
精誠御取置之儀御役人共へ被仰付候へ共御国元幷江戸表之御
入用引続古来ゟハ多分ニ相恪御借財等 公金を始無御拠口々
も有之迚此上ハ格別之御厳法相立不申候半而ハ急度御取置之
場へ難押移右ニ付御為筋存付候ハヽ格統高下ニ不拘無覆非
拙者共迄申達候様被仰出候
同一三月朔日長谷川武右衛門先達而申達候ハ御鉄炮之間昨年来御出精被遊候ニ付当
御発駕前御手数差上度旨ニ付御内意相伺候処未た御稽古数も不被遊候ニ付
先御辞退被遊候旨被仰出其趣武右衛門へ申聞候処今日又々武右衛門罷出申達候ハ御
辞退被遊候も流儀ニ取難有ハ被存候得共強而差上度尚又相伺候段申聞候
ニ付右之段再応申上候処御満足ハ被遊候得共夫々玉数も不被遊候間当年ハ是
非御辞退被遊来年被為入候上尚又相伺候様被仰出右趣武右衛門へ申聞候
同一同四日御目付月番荻野鍋八郎ゟ左之通通達有之
此度句読師被仰付候間来ル十日ゟ桜馬場正蔵堂へ朝五時ゟ八時迄之内勝手
次第罷出候様

卯年 補遺
一、二月十五日、御用部屋へ諸月番を呼び出し、御用番荻野左近方より御書付を左の通り相渡された。
一昨年春、霊岸島御屋敷御類焼の御普請を始め万端御入用増加により、御勝手向きが御不如意な状況につき、同年より御家中半減の御借米を仰せ出されたところ、一同質素を相守り神妙の至りと思し召されている。然るところ、種々御心を配られ、御改革の御趣法をもって精誠に御取り置きの儀を御役人共へ仰せ付けられているが、御国元並びに江戸表の御入用が引き続き古来よりは多分に相嵩み、御借財等、公金を始め無拠口々もあり、このうえは格別の御厳法を相立てなければ、急度御取り置きの場へ押し移ることは難しい。右につき御為筋で存じ付くことがあれば、格統高下に拘わらず無遠慮に拙者共まで申し達するよう仰せ出された。
同一、三月朔日、長谷川武右衛門が先達て申し達したことには、御鉄砲の間において昨年来御出精を遊ばされたにつき、当御発駕前に御手数を差し上げたい旨につき御内意を相伺ったところ、未だ御稽古数も遊ばされていないにつき、まず御辞退を遊ばされる旨を仰せ出され、その趣を武右衛門へ申し聞かせたところ、今日また武右衛門が罷り出て申し達したことには、御辞退を遊ばされることも流儀には有難いと存じているが、強いて差し上げたく、なお再び相伺いたい段を申し聞いたにつき、右の段を再応申し上げたところ、御満足は遊ばされているが、それぞれ玉数も遊ばされていない間、当年はぜひ御辞退を遊ばされ、来年お入りになられた上で、なお再び相伺うよう仰せ出され、右の趣を武右衛門へ申し聞かせた。
同一、同四日、御目付月番荻野鍋八郎より左の通り通達があった。
この度句読師を仰せ付けられたので、来る十日より桜馬場正蔵堂へ朝五時より八時までの内、勝手次第罷り出るよう。

The spring before last, beginning with the reconstruction following the fire at the Reiganjima mansion, various expenses increased substantially, leading to financial difficulties. From that same year, half-reduced rice loans were ordered for all retainers, and everyone has maintained frugality most admirably. However, despite various considerations and the appointment of officials to implement reform policies with sincere dedication, expenses at both the domain headquarters and Edo continue to exceed those of ancient times considerably. With debts and unavoidable expenditures including public funds, unless particularly strict laws are established, it will be difficult to achieve the urgent goal of establishing reserves. Therefore, if anyone has ideas beneficial to the domain's interests, regardless of rank or status, they should report directly to us without reserve.

On the 1st day of the 3rd month, Hasegawa Takemon had previously reported that regarding the firearms training, as diligent practice had been conducted since last year, he wished to present a demonstration before the current departure. When this was privately consulted upon, as the number of practice sessions had not yet been sufficient, it was first declined. When this decision was conveyed to Takemon, today he again appeared and reported that while he found the decline honorable according to protocol, he strongly wished to present the demonstration and requested reconsideration. When this matter was reported again, although satisfaction was expressed, since the required number of shots had not been completed, this year's demonstration must definitely be declined, and he should inquire again after participating next year. This decision was conveyed to Takemon.
