The performance stage was set up by moving together the thresholds of the Peacock Room adjacent to the formal reception room, and enclosing it with folding screens. Lord Kengoro entered at the front, while the duty chief retainers and pages, along with Lord Kengoro's attendants, sat in attendance at the rear entrance side. However, Kohei attended separately. The other assembled officials and both physicians viewed from the rest room with the sliding doors removed. The close attendant guards on duty also viewed from the same location. Besides the two duty guards of the inner quarters, Katayama Heishichi and Katō Dosaburō attended as facing guards. All of the above wore swords, same as those serving as companions. However, those seated in attendance before his lordship removed their long swords and placed their short swords behind them. All the preparations were handled by the close attendant guards.
However, during the three daily meals, when ordered to assemble and preparations were ready, the chief retainer reported and [his lordship] immediately entered. His formal wear was court dress with family crests, upper and lower garments. While not limited to court dress with crests, when the inner quarter guards inquired, he wore the crested court dress according to his wishes. When Lord Kengoro first entered, they met face-to-face in the small reception room, then immediately proceeded together to the viewing area. After the musical accompaniment concluded, they returned to the small reception room where thanks were expressed.
One item: For viewing by the Great Interior, the inner quarter guard station was closed off to become the viewing area. All rooms were enclosed, and details of the arrangements at that time are recorded in the inner guard records.
One item: Those who attended for the first Noh chanting, as well as others from both retainer quarters, the physician quarters, tea ceremony staff, inner platform attendants, and all subordinates received sake, soup, and fish delicacies. Details are recorded in the meal service records.
100 hiki in gold, privately disbursed - Yūzō's son, Sugiura Kintarō
The above was given because he was appointed as companion this evening. Delivered by the inner quarter guards. However, Kintarō's appointment as companion was decided when Yūzō was summoned last winter and informed by the officials.

One item: On the 6th day at eight o'clock assembly, there was a ceremony for the beginning of practice. As usual, formal silk court dress with upper and lower garments, and of course sake and soup were bestowed, handled by the officials.
[Insertion] To be included as an addendum at the end.
One item: On the 7th day of the 1st month, it was announced today that Sano Kotarō would enter the observation post to view the horse威 (military display) on the coming 14th day. Notice was given to Kotarō. Since it is during the period of age restrictions, he was ordered to enter as quietly as possible.
