　拝玄関ゟ御駕ニ而御廟拝済再書院へ被為入御着座表御小姓昆布差
　上直ニ引之方丈御目見被仰付御用人披露御意有之退去光祥寺御目
　見披露同断御意無之引続役僧三人一所ニ罷出御目見再方丈出座拝
　領物之御礼申上御用人御取合相済御袴ニ御召替御程合ニ而御膳被仰付御

現代語訳

斗目半の御上下をお召しになり、御像堂で御拝、お手備え、御花、御菓子を隆威御霊前に御拝。玄関から御駕籠にて御廟拝を済ませ、再び書院へお入りになり御着座。表御小姓が昆布を差し上げ、直ちに引き下がる。方丈の御目見えを仰せ付けられ、御用人が披露し御意があって退去。光祥寺の御目見えを披露したが同様で、御意はなく、引き続き役僧三人が一緒に罷り出て御目見え。再び方丈が出座し、拝領物の御礼を申し上げ、御用人との御取り合いが済む。御袴にお召し替えになり、お頃合いにて御膳を仰せ付けられる。御本膳を方丈が差し上げ、台を引き下げ同様に御挨拶を申し上げ、御意があって退去。御側御用人出席。御袴をお取りになり、御側御用人が正座。ここにて御側向頭取が相伺い、一同肩衣御免。御膳が済み、座禅堂・開山堂・隠居所を御見物のためにお入りになる。役僧が御案内、御用人が御先立ち。もちろん御袴をお召しになったが、隠居所にて御袴をお脱ぎになり、直ちに岩山へお入りになり御茸狩りがある。御供頭・御医師・御茶道・高野惣左衛門・御側御用人・御用人・御側向が残らず御供として罷り出る。御帰りがけに別荘隠居所へお入りになり、残らず御見物が済み、元の書院へお入りになる。山亭の支度を仰せ出され、御袴にてお入りになり、御用人が御先立ち。山亭にて

　　柿　一台　　献上

御用人が披露して済み、方丈並びに光祥寺・御匙・医師が御相伴として罷り出る。御菓子・銘酒をお召し上がりになった。ただし御相伴の面々への給仕は表御小姓が勤めた。高野惣左衛門に詩作を仰せ付けられ、御次にて認めて差し上げ、御直に方丈へお下げになる。御茶をお召し上がりになり、御相伴へも出し、しばらく御咄等があり、お頃合いにて御菓子三方を引き下げ、方丈が退去。直ちに奥書院へお入りになり、後段として浮麩の御吸物等をお召し上がりになる。方丈・御相伴・御匙・医師も同様。この所にて

　　芝付蕈　　献上

披露はなく、御供揃いを申し上げ、玄関から御帰殿。方丈がお見送りし御意がある。方丈が御目見えした節、御側回りは帯剣。

一、高野惣左衛門を召し連れる儀につき、御用人から惣左衛門へ通しがあった。○新右衛門が御先番で罷り越したため、聊か御用捨して直々退出した。

一、九月十九日　吉江へ御放鷹のためお入りになり、西光寺で御小休み。今日が初御鷹野につき、御鳥見頭初め例年の通り御酒をお下げになった。御膳番が取り計らう。　　柿一台　献上　西光寺

英語訳

Wearing kamishimo formal dress with dotted pattern, worshipped at the portrait hall, prepared offerings, flowers, and sweets before the spirit of Ryūi. After worship at the mausoleum by palanquin from the entrance, entered the study again and took seat. The chief page presented kelp and immediately withdrew. The hōjō (head priest) was granted an audience, announced by the chamberlain with his lordship's words, then withdrew. The audience with Kōshōji temple was announced similarly, but without his lordship's words. Subsequently three temple officials appeared together for audience. The hōjō appeared again to express gratitude for bestowed items, completed arrangements with the chamberlain. Changed to hakama trousers, and at the appropriate time ordered a meal. The hōjō presented the main meal tray, withdrew the stand similarly, offered greetings, received his lordship's words and withdrew. The attendant chamberlain was present. Removed hakama, attendant chamberlain sat formally. Here the attendant chief inquired, and all were excused from wearing shoulder garments. After the meal finished, entered to view the meditation hall, founder's hall, and retirement quarters. Temple officials guided, chamberlain led the way. Naturally wore hakama, but removed hakama at the retirement quarters and immediately entered the rocky mountain for mushroom hunting. The attendant head, physician, tea master, Takano Sōzaemon, attendant chamberlain, chamberlain, and all attendants came as escorts. On the return, entered the villa retirement quarters, completed viewing everything, and entered the original study. Ordered preparation of the mountain pavilion, entered wearing hakama, with chamberlain leading.

At the mountain pavilion:

After the chamberlain's announcement, the hōjō, Kōshōji temple, spoon bearer, and physician appeared as companions. Consumed sweets and fine sake. However, service to the companions was performed by the chief pages. Takano Sōzaemon was ordered to compose poetry, composed it in the anteroom and presented it, directly bestowed to the hōjō. Consumed tea, also served to companions, had brief conversations, and at the appropriate time withdrew the three stands of sweets, and the hōjō withdrew. Immediately entered the inner study, and subsequently consumed wheat gluten clear soup, etc. The hōjō, companions, spoon bearer, and physician did the same. At this place:

Without announcement, the attendants assembled and reported, returned to the palace from the entrance. The hōjō saw off with his lordship's words. When the hōjō had audience, the attendants wore swords.

Item: Regarding taking Takano Sōzaemon along, there was communication from the chamberlain to Sōzaemon. ○Since Shin'emon came for advance duty, excused myself slightly and withdrew directly.

Item: September 19th - Entered Yoshie for falcon hunting, rested briefly at Saikōji temple. As today was the first falcon hunting of the season, sake was bestowed as usual to the head falconer and others. Arranged by the meal attendant.　　One stand of persimmons presented - Saikōji temple

　　To Kairōgorō-sama and Teishōin-sama: Five matsutake mushrooms each

The above items brought from Daianji temple the day before yesterday were presented. The remainder went to escorts, advance guard, attendant chamberlain and both chambers, Confucian scholars...
