当日又々御飾立出来御支度宜処四郎右衛門申上御稽古所へ被為入

今庄葛粉二十袋 一升入り 江戸へ（御比丘尼七人、隠居三人）
右は御先代様の御道中の御土産のうち下賜になったことにつき、当年も御同様であるべき所、相応の御土産が無いにつき右を御買い上げにて下賜。今晩立つ飛脚に差し出した。

一 八月晦日 高村新五兵衛腹痛につき今日より引き籠もり申した。中沢隼人も長々引き籠もり、小兵衛一人になったにつき、先例の通り御聴き入れの上、当番明け切り、もっとも御側向頭取三人のうち一人引きこもりある節は両人にて隔番相勤める事。小兵衛一人になり隔日に当番相勤める。

一 鉄砲の間において表方皆勤の面々を御覧あり。右今日御褒美があった由。
一 九月二日 今朝御出殿前御弓始めの御式、御弓術御入門をなされるにつき、飯嶋四郎右衛門父子が出仕して取り計らった。御稽古所に御当日七日以前より神前飾り立てがあるべき筈の所、今般御略式にて初日に御飾り立てをして相仕舞い置き、御当日また御飾り立て出来、御支度よろしき処、四郎右衛門申し上げ、御稽古所へお入りになった。御召し物は御服紗半の御上下。最初神前御拝をなされ、それより四郎右衛門が御弓矢を差し上げ、御戴きをなされ、右御弓矢を御小姓へ御渡しをなされ、それより神酒を召し上がられ済んで御着座。ここにて四郎右衛門対法入りを御覧、済んで御用人まで四郎右衛門が恐悦申し上げ、御意（目出度い）があり、御用人が御取り合い、再び御意（大儀）があって済んだ。但し今日御稽古はなされず。右御式につき御用人一人、御稽古係一人、役係、御小姓二人、四郎右衛門父子以上は服紗麻上下、その余は平服。

One August 30th Takamura Shingobei confined himself from today due to stomach pain. Nakazawa Hayato has also been confined for a long time, leaving only Kobei, so following precedent and with permission, the duty shift ends. When one of the three Chamberlain Chiefs is absent, the remaining two serve alternate shifts. With only Kobei remaining, he serves duty on alternating days.

One In the rifle room, all those with perfect attendance were reviewed, and rewards were given today.
One September 2nd This morning before departing the palace, the archery initiation ceremony was held as His Lordship began studying archery, with Iijima Shiroemon and his son attending to arrangements. At the practice ground, decorations should be set up before the altar seven days prior to the ceremony, but this time in abbreviated form, decorations were set up and completed on the first day, then set up again on the actual day. When preparations were complete, Shiroemon reported and His Lordship entered the practice ground. He wore a hemp formal dress with silk hakama. First he worshipped before the altar, then Shiroemon presented the bow and arrows, which His Lordship received ceremonially, then passed to a page, then partook of sacred sake and was seated. Here Shiroemon performed the ritual entrance which His Lordship observed. When finished, Shiroemon expressed gratitude to the domain official, received words of praise ("auspicious"), the domain official responded, and received further words ("well done"), concluding the ceremony. However, no practice was conducted today. For this ceremony: one domain official, one practice supervisor, duty officials, two pages, and Shiroemon father and son wore silk and hemp formal dress; others wore ordinary clothes.
