現代語訳
差し上げ、表御小姓が引いた。この処にて献上物が出され、方丈が再び出座し御左下段の黒縁際へ着座した。この節御挨拶《割書：時候の品々》があり、方丈が退去し献上物を引いた。
済んで御袴をお取りになる節、御用人より伺いがあり肩衣御免となった。この節より一統袴にて出ることは御都合次第とされた。御膳を召し上がり済んで暫くあって御菓子・名酒を召し上がった。もっとも御相伴はなかった。程なく御供揃えを仰せ出され御帰殿された《割書：暮六時過ぎ》。御帰殿の御召し物は御袴であった。御帰殿の節、方丈が御休息所へ御見送りに出て御挨拶《割書：今日はゆっくりと》があった。
天気が宜しければ庭山上へお入りになることもあるが、今日は雨天ゆえお入りにならなかった。また清田丹蔵を召し連れて詩作を仰せ付けられ、右の詩作を方丈へ下賜され、御側向頭取より相渡した。
一 十月十日 当朝仰せ出され、八時御供揃えにて御城下廻りの趣にて松本天王の神主坪田和泉方へお入りになった。松山専太夫の花火を御覧になり、夜五時半に御帰殿された。
一 御三度の御膳は和泉方にて御小弁当にて召し上がった。

[The kelp] was presented and the outer page withdrew. At this place献上物 (offerings) were brought out, the abbot came out to sit again and was seated at the black-edged area of the left lower platform. At this time there were greetings《Note: seasonal matters》, the abbot withdrew and the offerings were removed.
When this was completed and [the lord] removed his hakama, there was an inquiry from the domain official and permission was given to remove the shoulder garment. From this time forward, everyone appearing in hakama was at [the lord's] convenience. After finishing his meal, after a while he partook of confections and fine sake. Of course there was no dining companion. Soon the retinue assembly was ordered and he returned to the palace《Note: past six in the evening》. His attire upon returning to the palace was hakama. When returning to the palace, the abbot came out to the rest area to see him off and there were greetings《Note: today was leisurely》.
If the weather had been good, he might have entered the garden mountain area, but today being rainy he did not enter. Also, he had Kiyota Tanzō accompany him and ordered poetry composition, and this poetry was bestowed upon the abbot and delivered by the attendant chief.
One October 10th Ordered this morning, at eight o'clock with retinue assembled, under the pretext of touring the castle town, he entered the residence of Tsubota Izumi, shrine priest of Matsumoto Tennō. He viewed the fireworks of Matsuyama Sentayū and returned to the palace at half past five in the evening.
