勤めの御匙医師・奥御医師が罷り出て、御酒その他を下され取り計らい、御中老中は御次の南側へ出席し、御用人が代わる代わる出席した。
席画を仰せ付けられ罷り出た者：狩野永玄、奈須元泉
右の席画中、三寸回りほどを御覧になり、それから御小座敷へお入りになり、その後再びお入りになり、華蔵寺と半井仲庵■■を仰せ付けられ、以前の通りでそれぞれ御覧になった。また々御小座敷へお入りになった。七半時過ぎに再び御吸物が出て、それから御酒を頂戴し相済んで、御酒・御肴を引き、御菓子と御吸物を引き替え、御茶が出た。この節、御袴をお召しになり御座之間へお入りになり、御意《今日は粗末な》があり、御礼を申し上げ退座の上、御小座敷へお入りになった。諸事の取り計らいは御中老中並びに月番御用人の指図があった。但し御座之間へお入りになり御意がある節は、御側向頭取が罷り出た。

今朝五半時に御供揃いで運正寺から御案内を申し上げ、御参詣になった。御熨斗目半御上下でお入りになり、直ちに書院へ御落ち着きになり、長御上下にお召し替えになり本堂の御詰所へお入りになった。影写中は御詰めになり、暫く御休息になってから御宜しい段を申し上げ、書院へお入りになった。ここで御湯の下を召し上がり、また御案内で本堂へ御詰めになった。御経が相済んで鳥渡書院へお入りになり、この間に衆僧は退散し、御霊前の御支度がよろしい段を申し上げると、御霊前で御拝になり、それから書院へお入りになった。方丈の御目見を仰せ付けられ、御意《時候を滞りなく》があり、半御上下にお召し替えになり、八半時過ぎに御帰殿になった。但し御経済で御供揃いが出た。【朱書き】御法事につき江戸表から進上物があり、巻首に記してある。
一、右の御法事につき両番・大奥その外に荘餅の頂戴を仰せ付けられた。並びに今日御逮夜につき、詰合切に御夜食を下され、委細は御膳番に留記がある。
一、小兵衛の御寺詰め願い、三日共に相詰めるよう仰せ付けられ、隼人・新五兵衛は二十九日ほど相詰めるよう仰せ付けられたところ、当御番に差し合ったため、隼人は晦日、新五兵衛は来月朔日に相詰めたい旨を酒井彦六へ相達したところ、三日の内に勝手に相詰めるよう申し聞かされ、右の通り相詰めた事。

The attending court physicians and inner court physicians appeared, and sake and other items were bestowed and handled. The middle elders took their seats on the south side of the anteroom, and the chamberlains attended in turns.

During the right seat painting session, [the lord] viewed about three sun around, then entered the small reception room, and afterwards entered again. Kezo-ji and Nakarai Chuuan were commanded [to do something], and in the same manner as before, each was viewed respectively. Again he entered the small reception room. After 7:30, soup was served again, then sake was received and completed. The sake and side dishes were removed, confections and soup were exchanged, and tea was served. At this time, he donned formal hakama and entered the main audience chamber, gave words of greeting ("Today was modest"), thanks were offered, and after withdrawing from the seats, he entered the small reception room. All arrangements were directed by the middle elders and the monthly duty chamberlain. However, when entering the main audience chamber and giving greetings, the side attendant chiefs appeared.

27th day: It was announced that hawking would take place on the 2nd of next month at Hashigami area and on the 9th at Arakawa area. This was communicated to the head bird keeper. The retinue assembly was announced for before 6:30, and the chamberlains also conveyed this.

Real ducks caught by hand: one real duck, one small duck - These were given to the chamberlains and handled by the middle elders.

November 30th: The third memorial service for Lord Itoku-in was held at Unsho-ji from yesterday the 29th until tomorrow the 1st.
This morning at 5:30 with full retinue, Unsho-ji made an announcement and [the lord] visited the temple. He entered wearing noshi-me half formal dress, went directly to settle in the study, changed into long formal dress, and entered the main hall waiting room. During the portrait copying, he waited there, rested briefly, and when it was reported that all was ready, he entered the study. Here he partook of hot water service, and was again guided to wait in the main hall. When the sutra recitation finished, he briefly entered the study. During this time the monks withdrew, and when it was reported that the preparations before the spirit altar were ready, he paid respects before the spirit altar, then entered the study. He granted an audience with the head priest, gave seasonal greetings without delay, changed into half formal dress, and returned to the palace after 8:30. However, the retinue departed in economical formation. [In red ink] For this memorial service, offerings were sent from Edo, recorded at the beginning of the scroll.
For this memorial service, both guard units, the great interior, and others were granted zoni rice cakes. Also, for today's eve service, night meals were given to all on duty, with details recorded by the meal service staff.
Kohei's request for temple duty attendance - he was ordered to attend all three days. Hayato and Shingohei were ordered to attend around the 29th, but this conflicted with their current duty rotation, so they conveyed to Sakai Hikoroku their desire for Hayato to attend on the last day of the month and Shingohei on the first day of next month. They were told to attend at their convenience within the three days, and they attended accordingly.
