現代語訳
見物された面々は本多内蔵助方御家老、御城代永見主殿、天方孫八御留守居で、右の何れも参上し御目見えを仰せ付けられ、当夏拝領の鷹・馬を拝見するよう御意があり、御小座敷へ入られた。この節、御鷹二羽を据え、御鷹匠が据えた。高江又五郎、岸五郎左衛門が差し添えで参上し、御鷹支配御用人が参上して取り扱った。何れも拝見が済むと、御障子を開けて御庭の御縁先へ御馬を引き出し、何れも御庭へ下りて拝見した。御馬支配御用人が取り扱い、もちろん御別当・御馬方も参上した。右が済むと何れも復座し、この節再び入られて御鷹・御馬拝見の御礼を申し上げて退去した。直ちに高知の面々が参上し、御式は右同様であった。御始まりは五半時二寸五分で、済んだ所は四時掛かりであった。

Those who observed were Senior Councilor Honda Kuranosuke's group, Castle Deputy Nagami Tonomo, and Caretaker Amagata Magohachi. All of these attended and were granted audience, with his lordship's intention that they should view the hawks and horses bestowed this past summer. They entered the small sitting room. At this time, two hawks were perched, positioned by the falconers. Takae Matagoro and Kishi Gorozaemon attended as assistants, and the chamberlain in charge of hawks came to handle the proceedings. After everyone finished viewing, the sliding doors were opened and horses were led out to the garden veranda, with everyone going down to the garden to observe. 1. 1st day of 12th month: Before morning service, after 6:30, the retinue assembled and his lordship paid respects at the spirit hall and mausoleum of Reijitsu-sama at Unsho-ji temple. Since this was a service day, he boarded the palanquin from the veranda of the audience chamber, taking the mountain village route through the Taiko Gate and then the regular road, with both going and returning conducted in this manner. Today's ceremony was received by all together.
