赤地利（イシニカバ） これを柳葉（ヤナギバ）赤地利（イシニカバ）と云う
『大和本草』には赤地利（イシニカバ）と蝦蟆面搔（カエルノツラカキ）を
分けて載せている。『地錦抄』では一つの植物としている。

葉間にむかごのような実が生る故に
ムカゴニンジンとも云う。『地錦抄』にも

本草家に曰く
七星子（ムカゴニンジン）
戸田旭山『文会録』云く
広東人参
唐種 和名ムカゴニンジン
或いは三七根をもってこの植物とするのは間違いである。予の考えでは七星子を広東人参に充てるのは、その根の製法によって広東人参に代わるものになるのであろうか。なお尋ねるべきである。或る医の云うところでは、この根の気味は広東人参に勝ると云う。

Celery ginseng
Because bulbil-like fruits grow between the leaves, it is also called mukago-ninjin (bulbil ginseng). "Chikinsho" also states likewise. Some people call it bamboo-joint ginseng, but this is incorrect.

Chinese variety Japanese name: Mukago-ninjin
Some incorrectly identify this plant with sanshichikon (Panax notoginseng), which is wrong. In my opinion, using shichiseishi as a substitute for Guangdong ginseng may be viable depending on the processing method of the root, but this requires further investigation. One physician states that the medicinal properties of this root surpass those of Guangdong ginseng.
