He was granted a stipend of nin-fuchi (personal provisions) and was
employed as a teppo-kogashira (firearms unit leader) under Hoshina Minbu
One: In the same 20th year (1643), year of the sheep, in the 8th month, when the domain was transferred to Aizu, he
served as an attendant
However, in Kan'ei 14th year (1637), year of the ox, he was
employed in the role of gun-dai (district administrator), and in the following
year (1638), year of the tiger, he was assigned to the Kitahanabatake underground storehouse.
Due to dampness, the gunpowder became unusable, so he was
ordered to repair it. He submitted the problematic gunpowder for repair,
and when it was successfully restored, he was ordered through
the metsuke (inspector) Nezu Matauemon to continue repairing gunpowder as needed.

Since his father had grown old, he was
ordered to have the skills transmitted to himself
and to continue the repair work. Father and son worked for ten years until the year of the boar,
repairing over 3,270 kan-me of deteriorated
gunpowder and delivering it to the Ōkubo-
tani storage warehouse. However, he became ill
and found it difficult to continue his official service, so he
requested to resign from his position, and his request was
granted as wished. Both father and son worked for ten years
on repairs as muashi (without stipend), but when the father became extremely elderly and unable to
serve, this was reported and pardoning was granted, as recorded in the official records.
