一 享和二（戌）年正月、学校御普請により志を立て力を尽くし自身で働いたため、大造な地形で少なからぬ人夫が必要な積もりであったところ、短期間で完成し、御普請も格別に果敢に行われ、稽古場については成就し、一同諸衆が共に励んだ段が御聞に及び、御満悦に思し召され、これにより数日間自身で参加したため、学校において御酒を下賜された件

Having attended without absence and applying himself diligently to his studies, he was granted three bu of gold as a reward.
1. In January of Kyōwa 2 (Year of the Dog): Due to the school construction project, he dedicated himself with determination and worked personally. Although the extensive terrain would normally require a considerable number of workers, the project was completed in a short time. The construction was carried out with exceptional vigor, the training hall was successfully completed, and all members encouraged each other. This came to His Lordship's attention, and he was greatly pleased. As a result, because he personally participated for several days, sake was bestowed upon him at the school.

1. In September of the same year: Two koku and one person's stipend were reduced from his late father's allocated rice, and he was granted eight koku and two persons' stipend plus three koku as official duty allowance, and was appointed as a foot soldier (o-kachi).
