一婚礼之義は仲人と申者無御座男女互ニ文通など
致し相狎れ候時ハ親々之示談を以寺院様之所江
届け出候得者夫婦に相成り候筈之者を呼ひ出し一生夫
現代語訳
妻を犯してはならない、盗みをしてはならない、などということである。これに背いた心根の悪い者は捕らえられて罪人となる。
一 罪人は皆大きな囲いの中に放し置き、人々の得意とする所によって仕事をさせ、罪の軽重により年限をもって赦される。織物類など罪人の製した品が色々とある。
一 人を殺した者は死刑に処される。柱を立て板の上に乗せ置き、罪状を読み聞かせ、下の栓を抜けば罪人は上より落ちかかり、首を括って死ぬ。その様子は見たことはない。
一 良いことをした者は人々に誉められるけれども、褒美などをもらうようなことは一向に聞いたことがない。
一 王より俸銭をもらい受けている人がいる。官位昇進など
ということは全くないようである。俸の加増をすることはあるのかどうか、詳しくは知らない。

[They shall not] commit adultery, shall not steal, and so forth. Those with wicked hearts who violate these laws are captured and become criminals.
First, all criminals are confined within large enclosures and made to work according to people's abilities, being pardoned after a term of years depending on the severity of their crimes. There are various items such as textiles manufactured by prisoners.
First, those who kill people are sentenced to death. A post is erected with a platform on top, the charges are read aloud, and when a lever below is pulled, the criminal falls from above and dies by hanging. I have not witnessed this procedure myself.
First, those who do good deeds are praised by people, but I have never heard of them receiving any rewards or prizes.
First, there are people who receive stipends from the king. As for matters such as promotion in official rank,
