現代語訳
米利幹竹枝
杵で米をつく音が秋に忙しく響き、村々では雪が消えて麦が収穫される。朝刊はまだ多くの情思を伝え、誰のために美しく装うのかと問うのはやめよう。
男は大洋で鰍を捕らず、貿易で得た金は満州にある。ただ一人貞淑を守り眠りまた目覚め、ガラスの屏風の中ですでに三年の秋を過ごした。
港の青楼は水辺に連なり、今日はイギリス船を迎え、昨日はオランダ船だった。良い酒に酔うのもまだ厭わしく、美しい口がなぜ阿片の煙を吹くのか。
大道は平坦でなぜ回り道を厭うのか。山に沿い水に沿って都に達する。国王の巡幸は隊列をなさず、笠をかぶり鞍にまたがり、一人の従者だけを連れている。

The sound of pestles pounding grain is busy in autumn, snow melts in every village and wheat appears at market. The morning paper still carries many sentimental thoughts—cease asking for whom one adorns oneself beautifully.
The man does not catch loach in the great ocean; the gold from trade lies in Manchuria. Alone guarding chastity, sleeping and waking again, three autumns have already passed within the glass screen.
The pleasure quarters by the harbor connect along the water; today welcoming English ships, yesterday Dutch vessels. Fine wine for intoxication is still bearable to loathe—why do beautiful lips blow opium smoke?
The great road is level—why despise the winding path? Following mountains and water to reach the royal capital. The king's progress forms no procession—wearing a hat, straddling a saddle, accompanied by just one servant.
