一諸道具錫の類多し飯櫃なとも錫なり杓子は
刀豆の実を抜たる如きものを用ゆ
一食物ハ田芋唐芋定なり其中に麦ハ至て貴し
米ハ諸国より積来れとも上品とせす魚類ハ小鯛
等廻り魚ハに日本ニ替らす磯魚ハ日本ニ無之魚多し
一ハフアメリカとも味噌醤油なし塩を以味を付る
一上品之人ハ酒を呑すたとへ飲とも聊薬用の為なり
下品之人ハ呑事日本人の如し酔たる人を嫌忌大ニ卑とす
一亜米利加国今最中開け新国ニ而学術年々に精密ニ

一アメリカ国之王居ハ平地ニ而屋鋪建也城ハ上なるハ
鏡餅を積重たる様な塁にて石墻四方ニすこし
出入口を付こと〳〵く要害の大砲を仕懸けたり
一説に王の屋の上ニ大なる鏡を置て百里の裏
其鏡へ写りて掌ニ見るが如し
一大名の類に大城を構へたるもの多くあり
一官人等も往来ニ権威を取と云事曽てなし人品
の階級ハ衣服の色を以て分別す又百姓たり共
学問次第にて挙て用ひらる学問宜き者
官人非共上品の服を許ける
一人物篤実寛仁にて悪をなさす人殺盗賊なと

人に見せることを嫌う。
一、諸道具は錫の類が多い。飯櫃なども錫である。杓子は刀豆の実を抜いたようなものを用いる。
一、食物は田芋、唐芋が定番である。その中で麦は非常に貴重である。米は諸国より船で運ばれてくるが上品とはしない。魚類は小鯛などの回遊魚は日本と変わらない。磯魚は日本にない魚が多い。
一、ハワイ、アメリカとも味噌醤油がない。塩で味を付ける。
一、上品な人は酒を飲まない。たとえ飲んだとしてもわずかに薬用のためである。下品な人は飲むことが日本人のようである。酔った人を嫌い忌み、大いに卑しいとする。
一、アメリカ国は今まさに開けている新しい国で、学術が年々精密になっているそうである。
一、アメリカの政治は大体日本と同じで、十二ヶ条の法令があり、煩わしいことはない。
一、アメリカ国の王の居住地は平地にあり屋敷建てである。城は上にあるのは鏡餅を積み重ねたような塁で、石垣が四方に少し出入り口を付け、ことごとく要害に大砲を仕掛けてある。一説には王の屋の上に大きな鏡を置いて、百里の内がその鏡に写って掌で見るようである。
一、大名の類で大城を構えた者が多くある。
一、官人なども往来で権威を振るうということは全くない。人品の階級は衣服の色で区別する。また百姓であっても学問次第で取り立てて用いられる。学問のよい者は官人でなくても上品の服を許される。
一、人物は篤実寛仁で悪をなさず、人殺しや盗賊など（以下続く）
