絶てなしたま〳〵右等の者あれハ法ありて立処

一以前に浦賀江来し船ハ全く軍船ニあらす測量抔
する船なり来りたる子細ハ若日本の地測量の
節か又鯨舟なと漂流の節薪水の恵を得ん事
頼み度若しも容易に不許時ハ人質にても置べき
由云入るニの含之処日本人殊之外騒動したるとて
咹れ居る由一躰日本人ハ短気なるものと彼国
の人評する由彼国ハ寛仁のミならす只今にて
も大ニ開けたる国にて中〳〵他邦を窺ひ奪ふ
なと云事なし
一亜米利加国元来阿蘭陀より世話をして開けたる
国ゆへ万事蘭ニ類す
一切支丹の類ハ彼国にても忌て禁制す
一切支丹決てなきにもあらす女躰之軸物懸たる家ハ

現代語訳
全くない。たまたまそのような者がいれば法があって、すぐに捕らえられる。
一、以前に浦賀に来た船は全く軍船ではなく、測量などをする船である。来た理由は、もし日本の地を測量する際か、また捕鯨船などが漂流した際に薪水の恵みを得たいということを頼みたい。もしも容易に許可されない時は人質でも置くべきだと言い入れる含みのところ、日本人が非常に騒動したとて呆れている由。一体日本人は短気なものだと彼の国の人は評している由。彼の国は寛仁なのみならず、今でも大いに開けた国で、なかなか他国を窺い奪うなどということはない。
一、アメリカ国はもともとオランダより世話をして開けた国ゆえ、万事オランダに類似している。
一、キリシタンの類は彼の国でも忌んで禁制している。
一、キリシタンが全くないわけでもない。女体の軸物を掛けた家は必ずキリシタンである。
