一此書に載（の）する養蚕の原始（はじめ）故事等は和 漢（かん）史冊に
　拠（より）て輯録（しうろく）し《割書：予が》憶（おく）見を加ふるにあらず書中若 𨘴（かう）
　■（けう）あらば是を訂（たゞ）し給へ本朝蚕神の伝記は神代の
　巻を證（しやう）とし旦【且ヵ】神道 者流（しやりう）の伝説に随ひ記す亦養
　蚕の法は多年諸国 回歴（くはひれき）し工拙（こうせつ）を攷（かんがへ）悉（つぶさ）に口授（くじゆ）を
　需（もと）め敝家（てまへ）に探（こゝろ）み不利（ふり）を除（のぞ）き宜を挙（あげ）且婦女
　見 易（やす）からん為 画図（ぐはと）に顕（あらは）す巻中 図説（づせつ）は童蒙の

現代語訳

【右丁】
の方法を求めるならば、よく調理を成すことができ、両方を得ると言うべきである。そうであるならば
絹織物や綿糸が広く世の用に適することは、前日よりも
多くなるのではないだろうか。また王政の恩沢を助ける一端でもある。
近頃刻成して巻首に書き記し、これを返すと云う。

一、この書に載せる養蚕の原始（はじめ）や故事等は、日本・中国の史書に
　拠って集録し、私の憶測見解を加えるものではない。書中もし誤
　りがあれば、これを訂正してください。本朝蚕神の伝記は神代の
　巻を証拠とし、また神道者流の伝説に従って記す。また養
　蚕の方法は多年諸国を回歴し、工拙を考え、詳しく口伝を
　求め、我が家で試み、不利を除き、適宜を挙げ、かつ婦女が
　見やすいように絵図に表す。巻中の図説は初心者の
