邦訳に際し
最近我国に於て経口的予防法及びAntivirus治療法の実際化を見んとす
る時に当り、苟もその理論の何処に存するかを理解することは、之等の研究
又は実施の上に極めて重要である。而して之が理解に際しては先ず局所免疫
学の創設者なるA,Besredka先生の説述するところ所に聞き、本学説の拠つて来
る所を探索する必要がある。
それには同先生の著”Etudes sur l'immuité dans les maladies infectieuses”
が最も好適なりと思考する。本書は先生の実験を経とし多数の研究者のそれ
を緯とし、以て縦横に而も平易簡明に免疫学説の変遷、局所免疫の理論並び
にその応用方面の如き多数の重要事項を記載してゐる。
訳者は嘗て巴里のPasteur研究所に同師の教を受けた者である。茲に恩
師の許可を得て本書を邦訳し江湖に照会するの先栄を得たが、浅学菲才加之
訳文拙劣、恩師の真意を充分に伝へ得ざるを怖れるのである。
幸ひに大方諸腎【賢】の諒恕を得、一読の栄に接するを得ば、訳者の恩師に対す
る微意は酬ひられたと謂ふべきである。

邦訳に際して
最近我が国において経口的予防法およびアンチウイルス治療法の実用化が見られようとする時にあたり、もしその理論がどこに存在するかを理解することは、これらの研究または実施の上で極めて重要である。そしてこれを理解する際には、まず局所免疫学の創始者であるA. ベスレドカ先生の説明するところに耳を傾け、本学説の由来するところを探索する必要がある。
それには同先生の著書「感染症における免疫に関する研究」が最も適していると思われる。本書は先生の実験を縦糸とし多数の研究者のそれを横糸とし、縦横に、しかも平易簡明に免疫学説の変遷、局所免疫の理論並びにその応用方面などの多数の重要事項を記載している。
訳者はかつてパリのパスツール研究所において同師の教えを受けた者である。ここに恩師の許可を得て本書を邦訳し世間に紹介する光栄を得たが、浅学非才、加えて訳文拙劣で、恩師の真意を充分に伝え得ないことを恐れるのである。
幸いに諸賢の寛容を得て、一読の栄に接することを得れば、訳者の恩師に対する微意は報われたと言うべきである。

On the Japanese Translation
At a time when our country is about to see the practical application of oral prophylactic methods and antivirus therapy, understanding where their theoretical foundations lie is extremely important for these research endeavors or their implementation. In understanding this, it is necessary to first listen to the explanations of Professor A. Besredka, the founder of local immunology, and explore the origins of this theory.
For this purpose, the professor's work "Studies on Immunity in Infectious Diseases" is considered most suitable. This book uses the professor's experiments as the warp and those of numerous researchers as the weft, weaving together in a comprehensive yet plain and clear manner many important matters such as the evolution of immunological theory, the theory of local immunity, and its practical applications.
The translator is one who once received instruction from this master at the Pasteur Institute in Paris. Here I have obtained the permission of my mentor to translate this book into Japanese and have the honor of introducing it to the public, but being of shallow learning and meager talent, and with poor translation skills, I fear that I cannot adequately convey my mentor's true intentions.
If I am fortunate enough to receive the tolerance of learned scholars and have the honor of their reading, then the translator's humble intentions toward his mentor will have been rewarded.
