諸の書尓は蚕尓／三起三眠（さんきさんめん）の説阿りと
いへとも阿いて其古と尓不＿レ抱通用を本
としておきよとみと云其外の／名義（めいき）

桑尓／数品（春飛ん）阿りて葉の丸を／魯桑（ろそう）
と云葉の／細（こま）きを／荊桑（けいそう）と云事諸能
書尓見得たりといへとも通用尓たより
あらんが為常の葉又は伊達桑と云
桑は農業全書尓も四木《割書：桑楮｜桼茶》能一尓
してとりわけ尊もの也と云里竹木
古そ／多（おゝ）起中尓青葉より糸綿の出る
は／真（まこと）の／霊木（連い不く）なれば五穀の外尓は必
植扁きものなり醫書尓／桑椹味（くわのみ阿ちわひ）
／甘性寒（あまく志やうかん）にして／毒（とく）なく／五臓開節（こそうくわんせつ）
現代語訳
諸書には蚕に三起三眠（さんきさんめん）の説があると
いうけれども、あえてその古いことにこだわらず通用を基本
としておこう。「よとみ」と言う、その他の名義（めいぎ）
も右に準ずる。
桑に数品（すうひん）があって、葉の丸いものを魯桑（ろそう）
と言い、葉の細かいものを荊桑（けいそう）と言うことは諸書に
見えているというけれども、通用によって
あろうとするため、普通の葉または伊達桑と言う。
桑は『農業全書』にも四木《割書：桑・楮・漆・茶》の一つに
して、とりわけ尊いものであると言っている。草木
これぞ多くある中に、青葉より糸綿の出る
のは真（まこと）の霊木（れいぼく）なので、五穀の外には必ず
植えるべきものである。医書に「桑椹味（くわのみのあじわい）
甘性寒（あまくしょうかん）にして毒なく、五臓関節（ごぞうかんせつ）
英語訳
Various books describe the theory of "three molts and three sleeps" (sanki sanmen) for silkworms,
but we shall not adhere to such ancient practices and instead base our approach on common usage.
We call it "yotomi," and other terminology (meigi)
follows the same principle.
There are several varieties (suuhin) of mulberry: those with round leaves are called
rosō, and those with fine leaves are called keisō, as seen in various books,
but for the sake of common usage,
we shall use ordinary leaves or what is called Date mulberry.
Mulberry is listed in the "Agricultural Encyclopedia" as one of the four trees {{marginal note: mulberry, paper mulberry, lacquer, tea}}
and is described as particularly precious. Among the many
grasses and trees, those that produce silk thread from green leaves
are truly sacred trees (reiboku), so they must be planted
in addition to the five grains. Medical books state that "the taste of mulberry fruit
is sweet and cold in nature, non-toxic, and beneficial for the five organs and joints
