現代語訳
四、五日も前に煤を払い、鼠の穴を塞ぐべきである。暖かくなると蟻も入るものなので、敷板なども張り替えるのがよい。窓障子の類も張り替えてよい。敷物は新しい藁筵がよい。それより上下の敷居の間へ三寸回り程度の唐竹の節を取り、三通りに引いて十二通りの棚を三方へ作り、一方を入口にすべきである。およそこれらの類は、蚕の孵化する前に心がけなければ、物事に準備が整わず、その年の養蚕に利益が薄くなる。
附記：蚕室はあらゆる穢れを嫌う。近所に雪隠（便所）などがあるのも悪く、たとえあったとしても、その臭いが蚕室に入らないよう注意すべきである。
