さて糠をあまり厚からずして敷り、四枚を敷き、右の孵化した蚕を紙へ移したるべき。桑の真葉を細かに切り、一面に懸け、鳥の羽にて寄せ、静かにかき合わせ、箸二本にて痛まぬ様に取り扱い、藁苞の敷紙へ孵化蚕と桑とも一匁程ずつまばらに移し置くべし。さて右の如く分け終えて後、桑をむらなく振りかけ、高棚へ揚げ置く
べし。惣じて棚は上ほど暖かなるものと知るべし。種一枚を莚指し渡し二尺五寸位にて給餌し、蚕を莚一面に入るべし。何れも初めは紙を敷き取り扱うべし。指し渡し右より少き莚ならば四五枚にすべし。厚く置いては甚だ悪し。生育も捗らぬものなり。前にも言う如く給餌を込にすれば蚕揃いはずして悪しき

Now, spread the rice hulls not too thickly, laying four sheets, and transfer the hatched silkworms mentioned above to paper. Cut mulberry leaves finely, spread them over the entire surface, gather them with bird feathers, gently mix together, and handle carefully with two chopsticks so as not to damage them. Transfer both the hatched silkworms and mulberry leaves sparsely onto the straw mat's paper lining, about one monme each. In general, you should know that shelves are warmer toward the top. For one sheet of eggs, use a mat measuring about two shaku five sun across for feeding, and place the silkworms across the entire surface of the mat. In all cases, initially lay paper and handle them accordingly. If the mat is smaller than the aforementioned dimensions, use four to five sheets. Placing them too thickly is very bad. Growth will also not progress well. As mentioned before, if feeding is done too densely, the silkworms will not develop uniformly, which is bad.
