廣め其益阿る事を知ら志めんがため書記
せり父甚之丞存生の頃伊達郡川俣屋半右衛門
といへる者阿り右の仕法を傳へ受け四十年来
其教を守養蚕する尓一年して不登
と云事なく相傳て予／試（こゝろ）むる尓年久し
／衣食（きものくいもの）は世の中の重きもの成れは農業乃
いとま尓は桑を植養蚕を春へし去なから
養蚕を好み多く蚕を飼ふといへとも桑不足
尓しては／其業自遂（そのわさおのつからとけ）かたく利も又薄し故尓
桑の／植藝（うへかた）の法は別尓巻尓出春古とく
蚕種も植置たる桑の多少尓よりて求
扁し先年奥州尓ては仙臺より北尓お
ゐて絹まゆ取りの養蚕する処も是な起

広め、その益あることを知らしめんがため書き記せり。父甚之丞存生の頃、伊達郡川俣の屋半右衛門という者あり。右の仕法を伝え受け、四十年来その教えを守り養蚕するに、一年として不登ということなく、相伝えて予が試むるに年久し。
衣食は世の中の重きものなれば、農業の暇には桑を植え養蚕をすべし。されながら、養蚕を好み多く蚕を飼うといえども、桑不足にしては、その業自ずから遂げ難く、利もまた薄し。故に桑の植え方の法は別の巻に出すこととく。

I have written this to spread knowledge and make known its benefits. During my father Jinnosuke's lifetime, there was a man named Yahanzaemon in Kawamata, Date County. However, even if one enjoys sericulture and raises many silkworms, if there is a shortage of mulberry leaves, the work naturally becomes difficult to accomplish and the profit becomes thin. Therefore, the methods of planting mulberry trees will be presented in a separate volume.
