意越
上へ達し其後は土地處尓より余木尓勝れ
て桑の世尓益阿る事を／往々（だん〳〵）知たる人も
多く当時は処々より絹まゆ糸抔も出る
とみへ堂り予も又多年の存意を
上へ達し自分の入料をも川て伊達御領
及取木苗木を求め世上へ阿ま年く廣免就
中北上川通へ蚕種場取立の人もあらん
かしと如斯書綴りたるも父か古々ろさし越
徒く志願なるのみ

意見を上へ達し、その後は土地の処々より、余の木に勝れて桑の世に益あることを、だんだん知りたる人も多く、当時は処々より絹繭・糸なども出ると見えたり。予もまた多年の存意を上へ達し、自分の入料をも費やして、伊達御領および他国へ苗木を求め、世上へあまねく広め就く。
中でも北上川通へ蚕種場取立の人もあらんかしと、かくのごとく書き綴りたるも、父が心ざしを受け継ぐ、ただただしい志願なるのみ。

I submitted my opinions to the authorities, and thereafter, people from various places in the region came to gradually understand that mulberry trees surpass other trees and are beneficial to the world. At present, silk cocoons and thread appear to be produced in various places. I too have submitted my long-held intentions to the authorities and, spending my own money, have sought seedlings from the Date domain and other provinces, working to spread them widely throughout society.
Particularly hoping that there might be people who would establish silkworm breeding centers along the Kitakami River route, I have compiled these writings, which are nothing more than my sincere aspiration to carry on my father's intentions.
