羽を以掃去り浄き帋尓包み新しき綿入尓て其上越

那し次の日巳の刻尓開らき見る凡過半蚕出生春へし即
掃立る也はき立第一念入丁嚀尓春べし其朝尓桑の和

羽を以て掃き去り、清潔な紙に包み、新しい綿入れにして、その上を包み、藁で蓋をなして蚕屋の棚へ上げ、火を焚いて暖かにする。次の日、巳の刻に開いて見る。おおよそ過半数の蚕が出生するはずである。すぐに掃立てを行う。掃立ては第一に念を入れて丁寧にすべきである。その朝に桑の柔らかな心葉を摘み、至って細かに切り、蚕が出生した種の上へかける。蚕はその香りを嗅いで葉へ登るはずである。鳥の羽を以て桑と共に紙の上へ静かに掃き下ろし、紙の中へ丸く辺りを透かして

The next day, open and examine at the hour of the Snake (9-11 AM). Roughly more than half the silkworms should have emerged. Immediately perform the "hakitate" (initial transfer). The hakitate should be done with utmost care and attention as the first priority. That morning, pick the soft heart leaves of mulberry, cut them extremely finely, and place them over the seeds where silkworms have emerged.
