蚕後ち病生ず桑心葉をとる事掃立の時斗り也
△次の日未明尓桑掛朝飯後尓古き草の先を洗墨越
去り火尓干し箸となし蚕を桑と共尓とり紙のめぐり
透たる処へ移春夫より又桑かけ巳申二刻尓もとの如く
邊りの透たる処へ移し終り一面尓して其夜又桑掛る也
移春毎尓掛此日は五度掛也

糠もり共云稾だをよく干し糠を薄く散らし其上へ蚕

現代語訳
蚕は後に病気になる。桑の心葉を取ることは掃立ての時だけである。
次の日、未明に桑をかけ、朝飯後に古い草の先を洗い、墨を去り、火に干して箸となし、蚕を桑と共に取り、紙の周りの透いた処へ移す。それより又桑をかけ、巳申の二刻に元の如く辺りの透いた処へ移し、終わって一面にして、その夜又桑をかける。移すたびにかける。この日は五度かけである。
三日目、蚕がゆらゆらと色白くなってくる。その節、わらだを増やし、紙放し（糠盛りとも言う）を行う。藁をよく干し、糠を薄く散らし、その上へ蚕を燠と共に箸の先にて取り、碁石を並べるように藁一面に置く。紙は取る。一枚の種を六わらだにすべきである。糠盛りして桑をかけ、又未酉の下刻にかける。この日は四度かけである。これより後は三度でも四五度でもよい。手回りよくは度々かけてよい。蚕は桑のかけ数によって早く成長し、早く繭を造るものである。

The next day, apply mulberry before dawn, and after breakfast, wash the tips of old grass, remove the ink, dry by fire to make chopsticks, take the silkworms together with the mulberry, and move them to the open spaces around the paper. Then again apply mulberry, and at the two periods of Snake-Monkey (9 AM-5 PM), move them to the open spaces around as before, finish by spreading them across the entire surface, and again apply mulberry that night. Apply each time you move them. On this day, apply five times.
On the third day, the silkworms become wobbly and turn whitish in color. At this time, increase the warada (straw mats) and perform "kami-banashi" (paper removal, also called "nuka-mori" - bran spreading). Dry the straw well, scatter bran thinly, and using chopstick tips, take the silkworms together with the embers and place them across the entire straw mat like arranging go stones. Remove the paper. One sheet of seeds should be spread across six warada. After the bran spreading, apply mulberry, and again apply at the late period of Sheep-Rooster (late afternoon). On this day, apply four times. From this point onward, three times or even four to five times is acceptable. If you can manage it well, apply frequently. Silkworms grow faster according to the number of times mulberry is applied, and will make cocoons earlier.
