その家に蒸しパンを求めて飢えを癒そうとして入り、これを請うたところ、その家の人は蒸しパンと火酒をも与えた。するとコサック兵はその家の婦人や家族の悲嘆の様子を見て、すでに略奪に遭った者であろうかと憐れみを起こし、フレデリキデラル（貨幣の名）二枚を出してその婦人に与えた。その婦人はあえてこれを取らなかった。コサック兵はその金額があまりに少ないのを嫌がって取らないのだと思い、また十四枚を出して与えようと言った。婦人はこれを受け取った。アレクサンデル

He entered that house seeking steamed bread to relieve his hunger and requested it. The people of the house gave him steamed bread and also liquor. Then the Cossack, seeing the sorrowful state of the woman and family of the house, took pity on them, thinking they might already be victims of plunder, and took out two Frederiks d'or (the name of a currency) to give to the woman. The woman dared not take them. The Cossack thought she refused because the amount was too small, so he took out fourteen more pieces and offered to give them to her. The woman accepted these.
