その途中、彼らの身の行く末を見ようとして、遠近から群衆が集まった。そこで同盟諸国の王侯たちが相談し、ボナパルテをセントヘレナ島に流刑にすることに決定し、艦長マックブルーンの指揮の下でノーサンバーランド号（船名）に乗せて送った。このとき共に島に赴いた者は、ベルトラン、モントロン伯爵、フカサス兵将、コルガント等、その妻子及び［判読不明］人、女中三人である。ああ、万人を残虐に扱い、万人に怒りと罵倒を受けた首魁たるボナパルテよ。
