【上段】
○金龍山浅草寺の本堂・念仏堂・経堂・鐘楼堂・山門・随身門は無事。雷神門の雷神像は倒れ、五重塔の九輪は曲がり、山内の諸堂は大破。伝法院の惣門・玄関・書院は無事。庫裏その他は大破。境内の寺院・寺中の町の長屋はことごとく潰れ、怪我人が多数出た。
○浅草寺の本尊・観世音菩薩は境内の花屋敷へお移しになった。
ただし、地震が過ぎた後、菩薩を本堂へお戻し申し上げようとしたところ、お厨子が重くて上げることができなかった。これはきっと大きな余震があることをお示しくださっているのだろうと（人々は考え）、七、八日の頃まではそのまま園中にお置き申し上げたという。
【下段】
○浅草田町辺りより出火し、土手下は少々焼け残る。谷中天王寺の門前町代地・山川町・竹門通り両側・袖摺稲荷・馬道通り・北新町・遍照院より東へ家数二十軒ばかり焼ける。山の宿・猿若町の三座ともに残らず（焼け）、楽屋新道・藪の内・浅草寺もち坊地内・いろは長屋・医王院地内、随身門際にて両側ともに焼け止まる。南新道は角まで焼け出し、花川戸は戸沢長屋の中ほどにて焼け止まる。

**[Upper Section]**
○ At Kinryū-zan Senso-ji temple, the main hall (hondō), the Nembutsu-dō, the Kyō-dō (sutra hall), the Shōrō-dō (belfry), the Sanmon (main gate), and the Zuijin-mon (guardian deity gate) were undamaged. However, the Raijin (thunder deity) statue at the Raijin-mon gate toppled over, the nine-ringed finial (kurin) atop the five-story pagoda was bent out of shape, and the various halls within the temple precinct suffered major damage. At Denbō-in sub-temple, the main gate, entrance hall, and reception hall (shoin) were undamaged, but the kitchen quarters (kuri) and other buildings were heavily damaged. The temples within the precinct and the tenement houses in the temple district were all completely collapsed, and there were many casualties.
○ The principal image of Senso-ji, the Kannon Bodhisattva (Kanzeon), was temporarily enshrined in the Hanayashiki garden within the temple grounds.
Note: After the earthquake had passed, when they attempted to carry the Bodhisattva back into the main hall, the sacred cabinet (o-zushi) was so heavy that it could not be lifted. People interpreted this as a divine sign indicating that a great aftershock was forthcoming, and so the image was left as it was in the garden for approximately seven or eight days.
**[Lower Section]**
○ A fire broke out in the vicinity of Asakusa Tamachi, and only a small area below the embankment survived. The following areas burned: the substitute district of the temple-front town of Yanaka Tennō-ji, Yamakawa-chō, both sides of Take-mon-dōri, Sodesuri Inari (a small shrine), Umamichi-dōri, Kita-Shin-machi, and approximately twenty houses to the east of Henshō-in. Yamanoshuku, all three theaters of Saruwaka-chō, the actors' back-lane (Gakuya-shindō), the area called Yabu-no-uchi, the lodging grounds of Senso-ji (mochi-bō precinct), the Iroha-nagaya tenement, and the precinct of Iō-in were burned. The fire stopped on both sides at the edge of the Zuijin-mon (guardian deity gate). On the south side, the fire spread as far as the corner of Minami-Shindō. In Hanakawado, the fire was stopped at around the middle of the Tozawa tenement block.
