現代語訳
【上段】
○金龍山浅草寺の本堂、念仏堂、経堂、鐘楼堂、山門、随身門は無事であった。雷神門の雷神像は倒れ、五重塔の九輪が曲がり、山内の諸堂は大破した。伝法院の総門、玄関、書院は無事であったが、庫裏その他は大破した。境内の寺院や寺中の町屋、長屋はことごとく潰れ、もっとも怪我人が多かった。
○浅草寺の本尊観世音菩薩は、境内の花屋敷へお移しになった。
ただし、地震が過ぎた後、菩薩像を本堂へお移し申し上げようとしたところ、お移しするには重すぎて上がらない。これは必ず大きな余震があることをお示しになっているのであろうということで、七、八日頃まではなおそのまま園中にお置き申し上げるということである。
【下段】
○浅草田町辺りより出火し、土手下が少々焼け残った。谷中天王寺門前町、代地、山川町、竹門通りの両側、袖すり稲荷、馬道通り、北新町、遍照院より東へ家数二十軒ばかりが焼けた。琴山の宿、猿若町の三座ともに残らず、楽屋、新道、藪の内、浅草寺持坊地内、いろは長屋、医王院地内、随身門際にて両側とも焼け止まった。南新道は角まで焼け出し、花川戸は戸沢長屋の中ほどにて焼け止まった。

【Upper Section】
○At Kinryuzan Sensoji Temple, the main hall, Nembutsu hall, sutra hall, bell tower, mountain gate, and Zuishin gate remained intact. The thunder god statue at the Thunder Gate fell over, the nine-ring finial of the five-story pagoda was bent, and various halls within the temple grounds were severely damaged. The main gate, entrance, and study of Denboin Temple were undamaged, but the kitchen quarters and other buildings were severely damaged. The temples within the precinct, townhouses in the temple quarters, and tenement houses were all completely destroyed, with many casualties.
○The principal image of Kannon Bodhisattva at Sensoji Temple was moved to the flower garden within the temple grounds.
However, when they tried to move the bodhisattva back to the main hall after the earthquake had passed, it was too heavy to lift up. This must surely indicate that there will be a major aftershock, so they decided to leave it in the garden for about seven or eight days.
【Lower Section】
○A fire broke out around Asakusa Tamachi, with some areas below the embankment remaining partially burned. Areas that burned included: Yanaka Tennoji gate-front town, Daichi, Yamakawa-cho, both sides of Takemon-dori, Sodesuri Inari, Umamichi-dori, Kitashin-machi, and about twenty houses eastward from Henshoin Temple. Koto-no-yado and all three theaters in Saruwaka-cho were completely destroyed, along with dressing rooms, Shindo, Yabu-no-uchi, Sensoji temple sub-temple grounds, Iroha tenements, and Ioin temple grounds. The fire stopped on both sides near Zuishin gate. Minami-shindo burned to the corner, and in Hanakawado, the fire stopped in the middle of Tozawa tenements.
