Given that the price of the 4-to-8-shō bales is fixed at 13 monme each,
what is the value in silver of the 4-to-8-shō bales,
the 4-to bales, and the 3-to-2-shō bales respectively?
Total for all three lots: 19 kan 500 monme.

○ Place 600 bales of the 4-to-8-shō bales on the right, and place 13 monme on the left;
multiplying this 13 monme by the right gives:
Silver: 7 kan 800 monme, as one finds.
○ Place 600 bales of the 4-to bales on the right; multiplying by 13 monme gives
7 kan 800 monme. Then place 4 to 8 shō on the left and divide by 4 to,
which gives 12. Dividing the said 7 kan 800 monme on the right by this 12 gives:
Silver: 6 kan 500 monme, as one finds.
