《第十五 銀両替えの事》
■ 丁銀五百六十九匁がある時、よき（上質な）灰吹銀を内二割引にして替える時に、右の丁銀には灰吹銀がどれほどになるかというと、
灰吹銀 四百五十五匁二分 という。
計算方法：右の五百六十九匁に八を掛ければ、灰吹銀四百五十五匁二分と知れる。
○ 二割引（内二割引）の場合は、八を掛ける計算。
外（そと）の場合は十二で割るとよい。
○ 二割増（ましたと）の場合は、十二を掛けてよい。
内の場合は八で割るとよい。

**【上巻三十六丁表】**
■ 灰吹銀七百九十二匁がある。これを丁銀に、内二割増にして、右の灰吹銀に丁銀はどれほどになるかというと、
丁銀 九百九十匁 になるという。
計算方法：灰吹銀七百九十二匁を八で割れば、丁銀九百九十匁と知れる。
■ 銀の豆板九百三十匁がある時、丁銀に替える時に、内三分引いて、右の豆板銀に丁銀はどれほどになるかというと、
丁銀 九百二匁一分 になるという。
計算方法：十匁（一〇）を左（基準）に置いて、この内三分引いた残りは九匁七分ある。これを右の九百三十匁に掛けるのである。

*Topic 15: On Exchanging Silver Currencies*
■ When one has 569 monme of chōgin (bar silver), and converts it to fine haifuki (cupelled silver) at a discount of 2 wari (20%) on the internal rate, how much haifuki silver does the said chōgin yield?
Answer: 455 monme 2 fun of haifuki silver.
Calculation method: Multiply the said 569 monme by 0.8 (i.e., eight-tenths), and one will learn that it equals 455 monme 2 fun of haifuki silver.
○ In the case of a 2-wari internal discount (*uchi ni-wari-biki*): multiply by 8 [and shift the decimal].
For an external rate (*soto*): divide by 12.
○ In the case of a 2-wari premium (*ni-wari-mashi*): multiply by 12.
For the internal rate (*uchi*): divide by 8.

■ When one has 930 monme of mameitagin (bean-plate silver), and converts it to chōgin with a 3-fun internal discount, how much chōgin does the said mameitagin yield?
Answer: 902 monme 1 fun of chōgin.
Calculation method: Set down 10 monme on the left (as the base). Subtracting 3 fun internally from this leaves 9 monme 7 fun. Multiply this by the said 930 monme.
