《題：第十七 小はん両かへの事》
┃小判（こはん）八拾七両有時 一両￣ニ付銀五拾六匁がへにして
右の小判に銀なにほとそといふ時に
銀四貫八百七十二匁といふ
法に小はん八拾七両￣ニ五十六匁をかくる也
┃小判弐拾八両三分有時 壱両￣ニ付付銀六拾目がへ
にして右之小判￣ニ銀何ほとそといふ時に
銀壱貫七百弐拾五匁といふ
法に廿八両三分と右に置まつ三分はかりを四にてわれは
廿八両七五に成是￣ニ六拾目をかくれは一貫七百廿五匁と成也

【上巻三十九丁裏】
《第十七 小判両替えの事》
小判八十七両がある時、一両につき銀五十六匁替えとして、
右の小判に対して銀はどれほどになるかというと、
銀四貫八百七十二匁という。
計算の方法として、小判八十七両に五十六匁を掛けるのである。
小判二十八両三分がある時、一両につき銀六十匁替えとして、
右の小判に対して銀はどれほどになるかというと、
銀一貫七百二十五匁という。
計算の方法として、二十八両三分を右に置き、まず三分だけを四で割れば
二十八両七分五厘になる。これに六十匁を掛ければ一貫七百二十五匁になる。
【上巻四十丁表】
小判六両三分三朱がある時、一両につき五十六匁替えとして、
右の小判に対して銀はどれほどになるかというと、
銀三百八十八匁五分という。
計算の方法として、図にある通り、三朱を四で割り、また三分を四で割って
下へ全て割り進め、五十六匁を掛けるのである。

Answer: 4 kan 872 monme of silver.
In the method: multiply 87 ryō of koban by 56 monme.
When there are 28 ryō 3 bu in koban, exchanged at 60 monme of silver per ryō,
how much silver do the said koban amount to?
Answer: 1 kan 725 monme of silver.
In the method: place 28 ryō 3 bu on the right; first divide only the 3 bu by 4,
which gives 28 ryō 7 bu 5 rin. Multiply this by 60 monme to obtain 1 kan 725 monme.

When there are 6 ryō 3 bu 3 shu in koban, exchanged at 56 monme per ryō,
how much silver do the said koban amount to?
Answer: 388 monme 5 bu of silver.
In the method: as shown in the diagram, divide 3 shu by 4, then divide 3 bu by 4,
carrying the remainders downward throughout, then multiply by 56 monme.
