長五十八間 同 廿五間 同 四反八畝十歩
法に長さ横（よこ）右左にをき
かくらは千四百五拾／坪（つほ）￣ニなり
是を田法三にてわれは四／反（たん）八／畝（セ）十歩と云

法に、長さと横を右左に置いて
掛けると千四百五十坪になる。
これを田法（でんぽう）の三で割ると
四反八畝十歩という。

長さ三十八間五尺二寸 横二十五間 → 三反二畝十歩
法に、長さ三十八間五尺二寸を右に
置いて、この一間に満たない端数の
五尺二寸を、六尺五寸で割ると
三十八間と八（分）になる。
これに横二十五間を掛けると九百七十坪になる。これを
田法の三で割ると三反二畝十歩と分かる。

Method: Place the length and width
on the right and left and multiply them,
which gives 1,450 tsubo.
Divide this by the field law (denpo) of 3,
and the result is 4 tan 8 se 10 bu.

Method: Place the length of 38 ken 5 shaku 2 sun
on the right. Divide the fractional part
below one ken — namely 5 shaku 2 sun —
by 6 shaku 5 sun, which gives 38 ken and 8
(tenths of a ken).
Multiply this by the width of 25 ken to get 970 tsubo. Divide this by
the field law of 3 to find 3 tan 2 se 10 bu.
