三一六にてわれは一尺五寸八分二リ二毛と成是を上左右に
置てかくれは二百五十令三分三リ五毛六糸八忽四と成
右にべちに置又四尺五寸を右の三一六にてわれは一尺
四寸二分四リと成これを左右に置てかくれは二百令二
坪七分七リ七毛六糸と成これほと右の五尺なわの

【中巻三十四丁裏】
三一六で割ると一尺五寸八分二厘二毛となる。これを上・左・右に置いてかけると二百五十零三分三厘五毛六糸八忽四となる。右に別に置く。また四尺五寸を同じく三一六で割ると一尺四寸二分四厘となる。これを左右に置いてかけると二百零二坪七分七厘七毛六糸となる。この値を右の五尺縄の坪の内から引くと、残りは四十七坪五分五厘余りとなる。これをさらに二百零二坪七分七厘七毛六糸で割ると、二割三分四厘五毛不足と求められる。

Then dividing 4 shaku 5 sun by the same 3.16 gives 1 shaku 4 sun 2 bu 4 rin. Placing this on left and right and multiplying gives 202.776 [square sun]. Subtracting this [latter value] from the right-hand value of the 5-shaku rope [area], the remainder is 47.55 [square sun]. Dividing this further by 202.776 gives a shortage of 23.45%.
