右の節、御養子御用掛の御老中・堀田相模守《割書：正亮》殿より、左の通り御書付を御渡しになった。
松平兵部大輔へ
小五郎の名の儀は、その方の存寄り次第に改めるよう仰せ出されたので、その趣を致すべく候。
一、その方の宅の普請が出来た上で、小五郎を引き移すよう心得られるべく候。
一、諸事、家格の通りに致し、万端取り計らわれるべく候。
六月
一、小五郎の儀、養子に仰せ付けられたにつき、相互に肴一折ずつ、一通の祝儀を取り交わされるべく候。日限の儀は、来る十三日・十五日の内に申し合わせ次第たるべく候。
一、刑部卿殿並びに御簾中へも、相互に肴一折ずつ、一通の祝儀を取り交わされるべく候。日限の儀は、別日に申し合わせ次第たるべく候。

At this occasion, the Senior Councilor serving as the official in charge of the adoption matter (Oyōshi Goyōgakari), Hotta Sagami-no-Kami 《marginal note: Masasuke》, presented the following written instructions:
To Matsudaira Hyōbudaifu
Regarding the name of Kogorō, you are hereby directed to change it as you see fit. You are accordingly to act in accordance with this intent.
1. You are to understand that Kogorō is to be moved [to your residence] once the construction of your residence is completed.
1. In all matters, you are to conduct affairs in accordance with your family's rank (kakaku), and are to manage everything accordingly.
6th Month
1. Since Kogorō has been appointed as [your] adopted son, an exchange of congratulatory gifts — one box of side dishes (sakana) each — in the customary manner is to be made between [the parties]. Regarding the date, it shall be as agreed upon within the 13th or 15th of the coming days.
1. To Gyōbukyō-dono and to the Lady [his consort] as well, an exchange of congratulatory gifts — one box of side dishes each — in the customary manner is to be made. Regarding the date, it shall be as agreed upon on a separate day.
