大御所様・大納言様御付の老女中・表使へ贈物を
致し候間、今度養子御礼申し上げ候節、拙者并びに於義丸方より
贈物を、御本丸御付女中と同様に相贈りたく伺い申し候。以上。

伺いの通り相送られるべきこと。
一、七月二十五日、御用番堀田相模守（正亮）殿より御呼び出しあり。
宗矩様より御留守居・大谷一右衛門（良次）を差し出され候ところ、去る二十一日
差し出され候御伺書へ、御付札をもって御差図あり。

この度、養子御礼申し上げ候節、拙者并びに於義丸方より右の通り

英語訳
As gifts have been presented to the senior ladies-in-waiting (rōjū) and outer-court attendants (omote-tsukai) attached to the Ōgosho-sama and the Dainagon-sama, on the occasion of this adoption congratulatory ceremony, we wish to present gifts from our household and from O-Yoshimaru's household in the same manner as to the ladies-in-waiting of the Main Keep (O-Honmaru). We hereby respectfully inquire. Respectfully submitted.

Item: On the twenty-fifth day of the seventh month, a summons was received from the Goyōban (duty official) Hotta Sagami-no-kami (Masasuke). O-Rusui (the resident steward) Ōtani Ichiemon (Yoshitsugu) was dispatched on behalf of Munenori-sama, whereupon instructions were issued by means of an attached note in response to the written inquiry submitted on the twenty-first of the same month.
Written Inquiry
For Manjirō-sama: a ceremonial sword, gold (in lieu of a horse), one box of dried sea bream (hoshi-dai), and one thousand hiki as wine-jar money (o-taru-dai).
For Gekkōin-sama: ten scrolls and one box of dried squid (surume).
For Lady Takehimegimi: same as above.
On the occasion of this adoption congratulatory ceremony, should our household and O-Yoshimaru's household present the above as stated? We respectfully inquire.
Attached Note
For Manjirō-dono: the ceremonial sword and horse substitute (money) are to be discontinued; [only] one box of dried sea bream and one thousand hiki as wine-jar money.
For Gekkōin-sama: five scrolls and one box of dried squid.
