英語訳

[The foregoing instructions were issued so that such matters would] not reach her [O-Yoshimaru-sama's] ears. The members of the attendant staff from the Hitotsubashi household were likewise instructed to harbor no ill feeling toward one another, to maintain mutual harmony, and to ensure that each person conducted themselves without rudeness or coarseness. In particular, it was emphasized that those in the close personal service (o-kinshū-muki) should comport themselves with proper decorum and etiquette when dealing with those from outside the household (tozama), and should do so with ever greater cordiality. This was conveyed by the household elder (o-karō) Sakai Geki (Tomotaka). Note: On the 28th of the same month, the household elder Honda Yagara conveyed instructions to the Hitotsubashi-attached members of staff, directing them to continue to observe strictly the provisions set forth in the written directive (o-kakitsuke) that had previously been issued to them at the Hitotsubashi household, and informing them that they would be made aware of the household rules (o-kahō) and related matters on a continuing basis, and were therefore to carry out their duties with diligence. The content of the said written directive issued at the Hitotsubashi household is not known (details unknown). Item: The 23rd day of the 12th month. On the occasion of O-Yoshimaru-sama's transfer of residence from the Hitotsubashi residence to the Tokiwabashi residence, the following escort procession was dispatched to receive her: Order of the Procession Two lacquered sword-boxes (o-hasami-bako) Four footmen (ko-bito) Nine foot-soldiers (o-kachi) [wearing formal hemp hakama (asa-kamishimo)] Chamber-attendant lady supervisory officer: Akita Sangozaemon [wearing noshime formal dress] One long-handled halberd (o-naginata) [Three small-equipment bearers] Chamber-attendant foot-soldier captain (o-kachi-gashira): Shimoyama Shichirōzaemon [same dress] One palanquin (o-kago) [Nine palanquin bearers] Twelve close-retinue attendants (o-temaわari) One foot-soldier inspector (o-kachi-metsuke) One foot-soldier sub-commander (o-kachi-kogashira) One rear foot-soldier (o-ato-kachi) Two sandal-bearers (o-zōri-tori) Two personal-effects carriers (o-mochi-dōgu) [Three small-equipment bearers] One umbrella (o-kasa) Two footmen (ko-bito)
