英語訳
Kan'en 1, the year of Tsuchinoe-Tatsu (1748) — (This year, the era name was changed on the 18th day of the 7th month of Enkyō 5.)
Item: On the 22nd day of the 2nd month,
Regarding Lord Ogimaru's visit to the Main Keep (Hon-maru), the West Keep (Nishi-maru), and the Inner Chambers (Ō-oku) of Edo Castle to pay New Year's respects, and in accordance with the precedents established by the family, Lord Munenori had previously submitted an inquiry document (ukagai-sho) to the Duty Senior Councilor (Goyōban), Hotta Sagami-no-kami (Masasuke). The response, conveyed today via a written note (tsukefuda), instructed that during Lord Ogimaru's minority, he should proceed to the Main Keep, West Keep, and Inner Chambers to pay his New Year's respects, and that the specific date would be communicated at a later time.
Item: On the 19th day of the 3rd month,
A memorial service (tōzahoriji) was held at Tōeizan (Kan'eiji) for Lady Shishin'in (the biological mother of the Lord Dainagon, who passed away on the 16th day of the 2nd month). On behalf of Lord Ogimaru, the messenger — the unit commander (mono-gashira) and Sugigata Spear Commissioner (yari-bugyō), Mochizuki Hachirozaemon (Nobunari) — presented one sheet of silver as a condolence offering (kōden) to the main temple hall (hon-bō) at the same location (after prior consultation).
Item: On the 29th day of the same month,
On behalf of Lord Ogimaru, and in order to inquire after the Lord Dainagon's wellbeing during the period of mourning, the resident ambassador (rusui), Katō Chōuemon (Masatoshi), was dispatched as messenger to the West Keep, presenting one set of cedar-box tiered food containers (sugi-jū). Upon delivery (after prior consultation), Lord Ogimaru was informed by the Lord Dainagon's chamberlain (sobashū), Mizuno Tamba-no-kami, that the matter would be reported at a later time.
