英語訳
Enkyō 2nd year, Kinoto-Ushi [1745]
1. On the 29th day of the 1st month,
Lord Kōgorō proceeded to the Hon-maru [the Shōgun's main keep] from the Hitotsubashi residence for the New Year's congratulatory visit.
Note: There should have been gifts presented and gifts received on this occasion; however, as the Hitotsubashi residence subsequently burned down, the records from that time are unclear and are therefore not recorded here.
The reign of Lord Ieshige (This year, on the 1st day of the 9th month, Lord Yoshimune transferred governance to him.)
1. On the 25th day of the 11th month, at the Hitotsubashi residence,
A celebration was held for Lord Kōgorō's Kami-oki [the coming-of-age ceremony marking the end of shaved-head childhood]. On this occasion,
To Lord Kōgorō:
From the Kubō-sama [the Shōgun, Ieshige]: Via the envoy and side chamberlain (o-soba-shū) Lord Matsudaira Suruga-no-kami, two kinds of food and one set of sake were received as gifts.
From the Ōgosho-sama [the Retired Shōgun, Yoshimune]: Via the envoy and side chamberlain Lord Kose Hyūga-no-kami, one ornamental white hair decoration, twenty bundles of cotton, and two kinds of food and one set of sake were received as gifts.
From the Dainagon-sama: Via the envoy and side chamberlain Lord Matsudaira Uneme-no-shō, one box of fresh sea bream was received as a gift.
On this occasion,
Lord Kōgorō sent, via his envoy, the Hitotsubashi chief elder (o-karō) Sano Buzen-no-kami:
To the Kubō-sama: one kind of food and one set of sake.
To the Ōgosho-sama: a monetary gift in lieu of a horse.
