当村石切之儀村中取調候処別紙帳面書出候之外
壱人茂無御座候尤旅先ニ而石切弟子取申間鋪
猶又出先実躰ニ相稼可申旨具ニ申聞候処逐一
奉畏候若此上不吟味成儀後日御聞及有之候ハヽ
早速御注進可被成候其上何様之御咎筋被
仰付候共少茂御恨無御座候為後日連印依而如件

差し出し申す一札の事
当村の石切の件について村中で取り調べましたところ、別紙の帳面に書き出した者以外には一人もおりません。もっとも、旅先で石切の弟子を取ることは致しません。なお、出先では真面目に働くよう詳しく申し聞かせましたところ、一つ一つ承知いたしました。もしこの上、調査が不十分な件について後日お聞き及びになることがございましたら、早速ご報告いたします。その上でどのようなお咎めを仰せ付けられても、少しも恨みはございません。後日のため連印いたします。以上の通りです。

Regarding the matter of stonecutters in our village, we have investigated throughout the village and found that there is no one other than those listed in the separate ledger. Furthermore, we will not take on stonecutter apprentices while traveling. We have thoroughly instructed them to work honestly when they go elsewhere, and they have acknowledged each point. If you should hear of any inadequately investigated matters in the future, we will immediately report to you. Even if any punishment is imposed upon us, we harbor no resentment whatsoever. We affix our joint seals for future reference. The above is respectfully submitted.
