名花傾国　両つながら相歓ぶ
常に君王の笑いを帯びて見ることを得
春風無限の恨みを解釈す
沈香亭北　闄干に倚る

花も貴妃のような者に眺められ、貴妃も花を見て、二つながら相喜ぶ。名花とは牡丹のこと。牡丹の名花も貴妃の美人も、二つながら御気に入りだ。君王がこの花を見て笑いをお帯びになる。愛せられるゆえ、このように相喜んで見る。花の心にもかように、春風が吹けば、ついには吹き散らされるであろうという危ぶみがある。女の習いとして、常に春風などの吹くにつけて、「わが容貌も衰えて寵愛も廃るだろうか」と思う限りなき恨みがあるが、貴妃はそのような恨みもなく解釈し、天子として心に憂いもなく花を見て楽しんで、君とともに沈香亭北の闄干に寄って、なんの恨みもなく牡丹を愛していらっしゃる。

North of Chenxiang Pavilion, leaning against the railing

The flower is gazed upon by someone like Consort Yang Guifei, and Guifei also looks at the flower - both rejoicing together. The "famous flower" refers to the peony. Both the famous peony flower and the beautiful Guifei are favored. The sovereign looks at this flower and shows his smile. Because she is beloved, they rejoice together in this way. Even in the flower's heart, there is the apprehension that when the spring wind blows, it will eventually be scattered. It is women's nature to constantly think, whenever spring winds blow, "Will my beauty fade and will his love also wane?" - an endless resentment. But Guifei has no such resentment and dispels it. As the emperor, with no worries in his heart, he enjoys looking at the flowers, and together with his beloved, leaning against the railing north of Chenxiang Pavilion, he loves the peonies without any resentment.
