現代語訳

天門山を望む

天門中断して楚江開き
碧水東に流れて北に至りて迴る
両岸の青山相対して出で
孤帆一片日辺より来たる

天門山は東には博望山、西には梁山という。その間を楚江という川が流れている。碧水の川面を見れば、東の方へ流れ、北の方へ巡り流れている。日辺というのは都のことである。李白が都からこの場所へ来て、船で天門山を眺めるのである。初めてこの所へ来た時の心情を詠んだものである。日辺というのは都から直接来たということではない。他の船は見えず、我が船ばかりだという心で「一片」と言う。このような所に来るのは楽しいことだ。

Gazing at Mount Tianmen

Tianmen breaks in the middle, the Chu River opens wide
Blue waters flow eastward, reaching north and turning back
Green mountains on both banks face each other emerging
A lone sail, single piece, comes from the direction of the sun

Mount Tianmen has Bowang Mountain to the east and Liang Mountain to the west. Between them flows the river called Chu River. Looking at the surface of the blue waters, they flow eastward and circulate northward. "Direction of the sun" refers to the capital. Li Bai came from the capital to this place and gazes at Mount Tianmen from his boat. This expresses his feelings upon first arriving at this location. "Direction of the sun" doesn't mean he came directly from the capital. With no other boats visible, only our boat, he uses the word "single piece" with this sentiment. Coming to such a place is a joyful thing.
