現代語訳

三日に李九荘を尋ねる　常建

雨歇楊林東渡頭
永和三日盪軽舟
故人家在桃花岸
直到門前渓水流

夕方まで雨が降っていたが、今朝は柳のある東の渡し場のあたりまで晴れ渡って見える。今日は上巳の三日なので、昔王義之が永和年中に蘭亭で遊んだように、私も軽舟を漕ぎ出し、友達のところを訪ねて行くのである。

故人の家はどこだろうと思うと、向こうの桃の花が咲き連ねた岸にあるから、この水に舟を浮かべて行けば、直ちに門前に到着し、風景を見れば物静かで、武陵の桃源郷へ来たようだという意を込めた詩である。詳しくは漢詩解にある。

英語訳

Seeking Li Jiuzhuang on the Third Day - by Chang Jian

Rain ceases, willow grove at Eastern Ferry
On the third day of Yonghe, rowing a light boat
My old friend's house is on the peach blossom shore
Arriving directly at his gate where stream waters flow

It had been raining until evening, but this morning it cleared up all the way to the eastern ferry where the willows grow. Since today is the third day of the Shangsi Festival, just as Wang Xizhi once played at Lanting during the Yonghe era long ago, I too row out in a light boat to visit my friends.

Wondering where my old friend's house might be, I see it's on the shore lined with blooming peach blossoms. If I float my boat on this water, I'll arrive directly at his gate. The scenery is so tranquil that it's like arriving at the peach blossom spring of Wuling - this is the meaning conveyed in this poem. Details can be found in the Chinese poetry commentary.
