源満仲（みなもとのまんぢう）【隅切囲みの中】抑（そも〳〵）此 満仲（みつなか）ときこへさせ給ふは古今（ここん）の名将（めいしやう）仁（じん）
義（ぎ）の賢君（けんくん）なり其先（そのさき）は忝（かたじけなく）も 清和天皇（せいわてんわう）の皇子（わうじ）貞純（さだずみ）親（しん）
王（わう）の御子 鎮守府（ちんじゆふの）将軍（しやうぐん）六孫王（ろくそんわう）経基（つねもと）の嫡男（ちやくなん）也 朝廷（てうてい）を重（おも）んし
民（たみ）を憐（あわれ）みたまふ事 一子（いつし）のごとし此時 世（よ）初（はしめ）て治（おさま）れり
適々（たま〳〵）悪逆（あくぎやく）の人あれども本意（ほんい）を遂（とぐ）る事 不叶（かなはず）源家（げんけ）
栄（さかへ）天下 泰平（たいへい）なり神社（じんじや）仏閣（ぶつかく）を建立（こんりう）し給ふ事かぞへ
がたし或時（あるとき）は夢中（むちう）に龍女（りうによ）来て龍馬（りうめ）を奉り住吉（すみよし）に
参籠（さんろう）ありて神鏑（かんかぶらや）を発（はなち）て大 蛇（じや）を退治（たいぢ）し居地（きよち）を得（ゑ）
たまふ鬚切（ひげきり）膝丸（ひざまる）の霊剣（れいけん）は源氏累代（げんじるいたい）の重宝（ちやうほう）なり
曽（かつ）て自身（じしん）の像（ざう）を割（きざん）で末代（まつだい）弓矢（ゆみや）の守護神（しゆごじん）たるべしと
自作（しさく）の御 貌（かたち）を抄（せう）し給ふと也 彼（かの）龍女（りうによ）来て龍馬（りうめ）を

源満仲
【隅切囲みの中】そもそも、この満仲と申し上げる方は、古今の名将軍であり、仁義を重んじる賢明な君主である。その先祖は恐れ多くも清和天皇の皇子である貞純親王の御子で、鎮守府将軍六孫王経基の嫡男である。朝廷を重んじ、民を我が子のように慈しまれたため、この時代に世の中が初めて治まった。たまに悪逆な人物がいても、その本意を遂げることはできず、源氏が栄え、天下は太平であった。神社仏閣を建立されることは数え切れないほどであった。ある時は夢の中で龍女が現れて龍馬を献上し、住吉に参籠して神の鏑矢を放って大蛇を退治し、居住地を得られた。髭切・膝丸の霊剣は源氏累代の重宝である。かつて自身の像を彫刻して、末代まで弓矢の守護神となろうと、自作の御姿を作られたということである。あの龍女が来て龍馬を献上した場所を左に図示する。

満仲朝臣の領地である摂津国の瀬の辺りで狩りを楽しまれること四、五日であった。ある夜、女が現れて御前に来た。「いかなる者か」とお尋ねになると、「参上いたします。私は龍女でございますが、仇敵がおりまして、それを退治していただいて私を助けてください」と申し上げた。すぐに満仲が承諾されると、女は喜んで龍馬一頭を引いてきたと思われた。御夢から覚めてあたりを御覧になると、本当に普通ではない馬が一頭いたということである。

Minamoto no Mitsunaka (Manchū)
【Within Corner-Cut Frame】Now, this Mitsunaka was a famous general of all ages and a wise ruler who valued benevolence and righteousness. His ancestor was, most reverently, the son of Prince Sadazumi, who was a son of Emperor Seiwa, and he was the eldest son of Rokuson'ō Tsunemoto, the Shōgun of Chinjufu. He respected the imperial court and showed compassion to the people as if they were his own children, and for the first time the world became peaceful during this era. Even when occasionally wicked people appeared, they could not achieve their evil intentions. The Genji clan prospered and the realm was at peace. The number of shrines and Buddhist temples he built was countless. At one time, a dragon maiden appeared in his dream and offered him a dragon horse. He made a pilgrimage to Sumiyoshi, shot a divine whistling arrow to subdue a great serpent, and obtained land to dwell upon. The sacred swords Higekiri and Hizamaru were treasures of the Genji clan for generations. It is said that he once carved his own image, declaring that he would become a guardian deity of archery for future generations, creating his own likeness. The place where that dragon maiden came and offered the dragon horse is illustrated on the left.

Lord Mitsunaka was enjoying hunting at the banks of Se in his domain of Settsu Province for four or five days. One night, a woman appeared before him. When he asked "What manner of person are you?", she replied, "I humbly present myself. I am a dragon maiden, and I have an enemy. Please defeat him and save me." Immediately Mitsunaka agreed, and the woman rejoiced and seemed to bring a dragon horse. When he awoke from his dream and looked around, there was indeed one extraordinary horse there.
