現代語訳
胸の広い人は物を飲んで構わない。胸ほどには尻の穴も広ければ、胸につかえるということなく、きっと愛楽ともにへちまの皮とも思わず。川に千年、山に千年、海に千年、正天の木を得ればば化け物は通り物がすると言って恐れる。大蛇などは紅色の舌を巻いて怖がり、「大蛇南無仏南無仏」と十念を唱えている。
また籠耳というて、耳の穴は漏斗のごとく、その傍に川があって、聞いた事は聞き流し流し。

♪ちっと震えが。大蛇は俺が門につけているは...
♪化け物でも人間でも飲んで狩ることに怖いことはねえ。野郎は小粒でも三分出すと両にもなる男だ。蛇くらいを何と思うものか。

英語訳
A broad-chested person can drink anything without worry. If their rear end is as wide as their chest, there's no problem with things getting stuck in the chest, and surely they think nothing of gourd skin along with their pleasures. After a thousand years in rivers, a thousand years in mountains, a thousand years in seas, if one obtains the wood of the righteous heaven, monsters fear that things will pass through. Giant serpents curl their crimson tongues in fear, chanting "Great serpent, Namu Butsu, Namu Butsu" ten times.
There's also something called "basket ears" - ear holes like funnels, with a river beside them, so whatever is heard just flows right through.

When the wind blows, they transform into horse ears. From the monsters' perspective, they consider these to be utterly terrifying things.

♪Whether monster or human, there's nothing scary about drinking and hunting. This fellow, though small, is a man who can turn three bu into a ryō. What does he think of a mere snake?
