○倉頡（さうけつ）は黄帝（くわうてい）の代（よ）
の人なり眼（まなこ）四つあり鳥（とり）
の足跡（あしあと）を見（み）て始（はじめ）て
文字（もんじ）を作（つく）る是（これ）文字（もんじ）の
祖（そ）なり
○黄帝（くわうてい）は軒轅（けんゑん）氏（し）といふ
蚩尤（しゆう）といふ逆臣（ぎやくしん）を亡（ほろぼ）し
帝位（ていゐ）に即（つき）給ふ聖人（せいじん）也
此時（このとき）より暦算（れきさん）律呂（りつりよ）
宮室（きうしつ）書契（しよけい）冠服（くわんふく）等（とう）こ
と〴〵く具（そなは）る又 始（はしめ）て舟（ふね）
を作（つく）り給ふ元妃（げんひ）に命（めい）
じて蚕業（こがひのわざ）を教（をしへ）給ふ

○孔子（こうし）は唐土（もろこし）周（しう）の代（よ）の人
尭舜（ぎやうしゆん）の道（みち）を弘め五 常（じやう）
を教（をしへ）給ふ文宣王（ぶんせんわう）ともいふ
儒宗（しゆそう）の大 聖人（せいじん）なり
○老子（らうし）は周（しう）の代（よ）蔵室（ぞうしつ）
の史（し）たり生れながら白（はく）
髪（はつ）なり道経（とうきやう）五千 言（げん）を
顕（あら）はし無為（むい）自然（しぜん）の道（みち）を
教（をしへ）給ふ道士（どうし）の大祖（たいそ）神人（しんじん）
なり其終（そのおはり）をしらず
○許由（きよゆう）は尭帝（ぎやうてい）位（くらい）を譲（ゆづ）
らんとの給ふを聞（きゝ）て其耳（そのみゝ）
汚（けが）れたりとて潁川（えいせん）の滝（たき）に

現代語訳
【右丁 上段】
○倉頡は黄帝の時代の人である。目が四つあり、鳥の足跡を見て初めて文字を作った。これが文字の祖である。
○黄帝は軒轅氏という。蚩尤という反逆者を滅ぼして帝位に就いた聖人である。この時から暦の計算、音律、宮殿、文書、冠や服装などがことごとく整った。また初めて舟を作った。元妃（正妃）に命じて養蚕業を教えさせた。

○孔子は中国周王朝時代の人で、堯・舜の道を広め、五常を教えた。文宣王とも言われ、儒教の大聖人である。
○老子は周王朝時代の蔵室の史官であった。生まれながら白髪であった。道経五千言を著し、無為自然の道を教えた。道士の大祖、神人である。その最期は知られていない。
○許由は、堯帝が帝位を譲ろうと言われるのを聞いて、その耳が汚れたといって潁川の滝に行き、耳を洗った賢人である。

【Right Page Upper Section】
○ Cangjie was a person from the era of the Yellow Emperor. He had four eyes and created the first written characters after observing bird tracks. He is the ancestor of writing.
○ The Yellow Emperor was called Xuanyuan. He was a sage who destroyed the rebel Chiyou and ascended to the imperial throne. From this time, calendar calculations, musical scales, palaces, documents, caps and clothing, etc., were all established. He also first created boats. He ordered his principal consort to teach sericulture.

○ Confucius was a person from the Zhou dynasty period of China. He propagated the Way of Yao and Shun and taught the Five Constants. He is also called King Wenxuan and is the great sage of Confucianism.
○ Laozi was an archivist of the Zhou dynasty period. He was born with white hair. He revealed the Dao De Jing in five thousand words and taught the Way of wu wei (non-action) and naturalness. He is the great ancestor of Daoists, a divine person. His end is unknown.
○ Xu You was a wise man who, upon hearing that Emperor Yao wanted to abdicate the throne to him, said his ears were defiled and went to the waterfall of Ying River to wash his ears.
