世人（せじん）結（むすふに）＿レ交（ましはりを）須（もちゆ）＿二黃金（くはうごんを）＿一黃金（くはうごん）不（ざれば）＿レ多（おほから）交（ましはり）不（ず）＿レ深（ふかゝら）縱令然諾暫相許（たとへねんだくしてしはらくあいゆるすとも）終是悠々行路心（ついにはこれゆう〳〵たるこうろのしん）
《割書： 此詩は張謂か及第に試らるゝために都に居たときしたしひ旅宿の主人も及第にすゝまぬまへには君に用ひ｜ らるゝであろうと思ふて敬ひ其時分は金銀を持行たゆへ取持たが落第の段に成たればかまはぬゆへ人のまじ｜ はりといふものは水くさいものとていきとをりて此詩をかべにしるしおきしなり》
《割書： 惣して世人のまじはりといふものは黄金でもたくさんにとりあつかふうちは深く交をすれども貧になるとかま｜ はずましはりもうすくなるたとへ然諾と相見れは相ゆるすゆへたのもしふおもふてもつい金銀｜ でもなくなりて貧になると今まで懇意にしたものがゆう〳〵と｜ はてもない道とをりのごとく見ぬ｜ 顔をしてゐるやうになるさて〳〵｜ 人といふものは実のなひものじやと｜ なり》【挿絵】
現代語訳
長安の主人の壁に題す 張謂
世人が交際を結ぶには黄金を用いねばならぬ
黄金が多くなければ交わりも深くならない
たとえ約束をして暫く互いに許し合ったとしても
結局は悠々たる旅路の心となってしまう
《解説：この詩は張謂が科挙に合格するために都にいた時、親しい旅宿の主人も合格しない前には君に用いられるであろうと思って敬い、その時分は金銀を持って行ったゆえ取り持ったが、落第の段になればかまわぬゆえ、人の交際というものは薄情なものとて憤慨してこの詩を壁に記し置いたのである》
《解説：総じて世人の交際というものは黄金でもたくさんに取り扱ううちは深く交わりをするけれども貧になるとかまわず交際も薄くなる。たとえ約束と相見えば相許すゆえ頼もしく思っていても、ついに金銀でもなくなって貧になると今まで懇意にした者が悠々と果てもない道通りのごとく見ぬ顔をしているようになる。さてさて人というものは実のないものじゃとなり》【挿絵】

Written on the Wall of a Host in Chang'an Zhang Wei
When worldly people form friendships, they must use gold
If gold is not abundant, friendships will not be deep
Even if promises are made and they temporarily forgive each other
In the end, it becomes a heart of endless wandering
[Commentary: This poem was written when Zhang Wei was in the capital to take the imperial examinations. The host of his familiar lodging also thought that before passing the exam, he would be employed by the lord, so he respected him. At that time, since Zhang Wei brought gold and silver, the host treated him well. But when he failed the examination, the host no longer cared. Being indignant that human relationships are so callous, Zhang Wei wrote this poem on the wall.]
[Commentary: Generally speaking, worldly relationships are such that while one handles abundant gold, deep friendships are maintained, but when one becomes poor, people don't care and relationships become thin. Even if promises are made and they seem to forgive each other, making one feel reliable, when gold and silver are finally gone and one becomes poor, those who were previously intimate act as if they don't see you, like endless travelers on a road. How true it is that people have no substance!]
