九日 崔国輔
江辺楓落ちて菊花黄なり
少長高きに登りて一に郷を望む
九日陶家酒を載すといえども
三年楚客すでに裳を霑す
《解説：もはや秋の末ゆえ川端の紅葉の葉も落ちて菊花も盛りに黄ばみ始めている。九日は登高の佳節とて老若ともにみな高きに上って楽しむ。その中にわが如きの旅客はただもっぱら故郷の方を見望んでいる。古人九日陶淵明のところへ白衣の人が酒を送ったということがあったが、わが方へも誰か送ってくれようが、何を言っても三年楚国に旅客となっていれば裳を濡らして涙の乾く間もないとなり》【挿絵】

Ninth Day Cui Guofu
By the river maples have fallen and chrysanthemums turn yellow
Young and old climb to high places, gazing as one toward home
On the ninth day, though wine is brought to Tao's house
For three years this traveler in Chu has already soaked his robes
[Commentary: Now at autumn's end, the maple leaves by the riverside have fallen and the chrysanthemums are turning yellow at their peak. The ninth day is an auspicious festival for climbing high places, when young and old alike all ascend to high places for enjoyment. Among them, travelers like myself just gaze intently toward our hometowns. In ancient times, on the ninth day, a man in white robes brought wine to Tao Yuanming's place - someone might send wine to me as well, but no matter what, having been a traveler in the state of Chu for three years, I have soaked my robes with tears that never have time to dry.]
