草が青々と茂り
谷川は東に流れて
また西に向かう
香り高い木には人影もなく
花はひとりでに散り
春の山の一本道では
鳥がむなしく鳴いている
《解説：この河南府にある宜陽城も昔は繁栄していたが、今は誰も往来する者もなく、掃除する者もないので、草だけが生い茂って荒れ果て、昔とは変わり果てた。ただ変わらないのは谷川が東に流れてまた西に流れることだけである。昔は大勢の人がにぎやかに花見などをしたが、今は誰も見る者もないので、ただむなしく散るに任せて置かれている。宜陽城の道は春の山で鳥が鳴いているだけで、愛でる者もない。昔とは格別に違った様子を言うのである》【挿絵】

[Commentary: This Yiyang Castle in Henan Prefecture was once prosperous, but now no one comes and goes, and no one cleans it, so only grass grows thick and it has fallen into ruin, completely changed from the past. The only thing unchanged is the valley stream flowing east and then flowing west. In the past, crowds of people would noisily enjoy flower viewing and such, but now there is no one to see them, so the flowers are just left to fall in vain. On the road to Yiyang Castle, there are only birds singing in the spring mountains, with no one to appreciate them. This speaks of how remarkably different it is from the past.] [Illustration]
