中庭は地面が白く、樹には鴉が宿り、冷たい露は音もなく桂花を湿らせる
今夜月は明るく、人々は皆月を望むが、秋の思いが誰の家にあるかは知らない【挿絵】
《注釈：今夜は十五夜ということで、中庭の風景は白々と月も冴え渡り、庭の樹に烏などが宿しているが、宵のうちは月影に驚いて騒いでいたが、夜更けになったので落ち着いて樹の中に住んでいる。夜更けなので冷やかな露が置くとは知らないが、声なくして桂花が潤って見える。今夜は十五夜の月ということで、どこでもかしこでも望まない者はないが、この風景を感じ、秋を悲しみ思うのは私ばかりであろう》

旧府東山に馴染みの妓女がおり、重ねて歌舞をもって君の帰郷を送る【挿絵】
《注釈：昔、司馬相如が中郎将に任命された時、御伝馬で蜀の故郷へ帰るとて美々しく華やかに飾り立てて行ったというが、あなたも出世してこの度故郷へ帰られるので、相如のように所々で伝馬を用意し取り回し、光輝ありて美々しくして行かれるので喜ばしいことであるが、私はどうしたことか欄干で涙が流れ乾く間もなく名残が惜しい。何かなと思うが、知らない妓女は初対面で慰みにもならないだろうから、あなたがもと勤められた役所の近所、東山あたりの馴染んだ妓女を呼び寄せ、前のように歌い舞い、心を込めて慰めて君の帰郷を送るのである》

The middle courtyard's ground is white, crows roost in the trees, cold dew silently moistens the osmanthus flowers
Tonight the moon is bright, all people gaze upon it, but who knows in whose home autumn melancholy dwells【Illustration】
《Commentary: Tonight being the fifteenth night, the courtyard scenery appears brilliantly white as the moon shines clearly, with crows and such roosting in the garden trees. During the early evening they were startled by the moonlight and made noise, but now that night has deepened, they rest peacefully in the trees. Though one does not notice the cool dew settling in the late night, the osmanthus flowers appear moistened without sound. Tonight being the night of the full moon, there is no one anywhere who does not gaze upon it, but I alone feel this scene and think sadly of autumn》

《Commentary: Long ago when Sima Xiangru was appointed to the position of Palace Attendant, he returned to his homeland of Shu with imperial post horses, traveling in magnificent and splendid fashion. You too have achieved success and now return to your homeland, so like Xiangru you arrange post horses everywhere and travel with brilliance and magnificence, which is indeed joyous. Yet for some reason I shed tears at the railing that scarcely have time to dry, feeling regret at our parting. Thinking that unfamiliar courtesans met for the first time would provide little comfort, I call upon the familiar courtesans from near your former office around East Mountain, and as before, with singing and dancing, I wholeheartedly comfort and send off your return home》
