現代語訳
《注釈：春のことなので柳も栄えて、枝々が影を交えてどこが宮殿やら分からないように茂っている。閉ざされているのも、この嫩色（若緑色）の若葉の時は雨露の恩沢に潤って、このように盛んに成長したものである。底意（真意）は、若い時には君の御寵愛を受け、恩沢を受けたという女の情を言う。鳳輦（天子の車）もこれも帝と共に見たならば面白かろうに、寵愛も衰えているので帝の鳳輦も来ない。春は過ぎ去ろうとしているが、誰も見る者もなく、空しく鶯の鳴く声のみを残し留めて、朝から晩まで鳴いているけれど、誰も愛する者がいない》

英語訳
Commentary: Because it is spring, the willows flourish, their branches intertwining shadows so thickly that one cannot tell where the palace buildings are. They are enclosed, and in this tender green color of young leaves, they are moistened by the blessing of rain and dew and have grown luxuriantly in this way. The underlying meaning speaks of a woman's feelings - that in her youth she received the emperor's favor and was blessed by his grace. If the phoenix palanquin (imperial carriage) could be seen together with the emperor, it would be delightful, but since his favor has waned, the emperor's phoenix palanquin no longer comes. Spring is about to end, but with no one to observe, only the empty sound of the warbler's song remains, crying from morning to evening, yet no one loves her.
