《割書：八月／辺塞（へんさい）は中国とはちがひてはや霜（しも）がとび柳などもあまねく黄（き）ばみをちてさむくなり沙漠（さはく）の蓬根（ほうこん）｜も風に吹たゞよはされて雁なともおそしと南にかけるやうなものすこひ処に来てなんぞなぐ｜みでもあるかといふに耳（みゝ）には隴山（らうざん）の水のすさまじいをきゝ目には関山月の朧（らう）〳〵たるを見て居る｜がいつ故郷（こきやう）へかえらうやら知れぬとおもへばかなしみをなしたるゝ涙をおさへてせめて故郷の方をみて｜なりとなくさまんと思ふて竜堆（りうたい）の上にのぼりてこきやうをみれどもみへずいよ〳〵かなしみかますとぞ》

李秀才の辺庭四時怨に和す
盧弼
八月には霜が飛んで柳があまねく黄ばみ
蓬の根は吹き飛ばされ雁が南に向かう
隴頭の流水と関山の月を眺めながら
泣いて竜堆に登り故郷を望む
《解説：八月になると辺境の砦は中国本土とは異なり、早くも霜が降り、柳などもあまねく黄ばんで散り、寒くなる。砂漠の蓬の根も風に吹かれて飛び散り、雁なども遅いと南に飛んでいくような、すさまじい所に来て、何か慰みでもあるかと言えば、耳には隴山の水のすさまじい音を聞き、目には関山の月のぼんやりとしたのを見ているが、いつ故郷へ帰れるやら分からないと思うと悲しみが募る。涙を抑えて、せめて故郷の方を見てでも慰めようと思って、竜堆の上に登って故郷を見ようとするが見えず、いよいよ悲しみが増すということである》

By the flowing water of Long Ridge and under the moon over border mountains
Weeping, I climb Dragon Mound to gaze toward my homeland
《Commentary: In the eighth month, the border fortress differs from China proper - frost falls early, willows turn yellow and scatter everywhere, and it becomes cold. Even the wormwood roots in the desert are blown about by the wind, and wild geese fly south as if in haste. In such a desolate place, one might ask if there is any comfort to be found. To one's ears comes the harsh sound of water from Long Mountain, and to one's eyes the dim, hazy moon over the border mountains. Not knowing when one might return to one's homeland brings overwhelming sadness. Suppressing tears and hoping to find some comfort by at least looking in the direction of home, one climbs to the top of Dragon Mound to gaze toward one's homeland, but it cannot be seen, and the sadness only deepens.》
