一 老衆登 城ニ而席え罷出候処今日牧野周防守
西湖之間御座席奉行之処病気付右之代り自分

但先例之通御料理早メ頂戴之断同人え申達置候
一 水野左近殿ニも西湖之間御座席奉行ニ付得と打合置候
一 申上ニ而大広間え廻り高家衆同席御奏者番一同二
之間え着座 出御 御目見相済三之間ニ而

但板倉阿波守ニも竹之間御座席奉行相勤候間同人申合

十月二十七日
一、右大将様の疱瘡平癒祝いの能楽見物を仰せ付けられたため、午前六時頃に熨斗目の長上下を着て登城した。
一、老中衆の登城時に席に出たところ、今日は牧野周防守が西湖の間の御座席奉行を務める予定であったが病気のため、その代わりに自分が務めるよう御目付の次田与左衛門から申し聞かされた。
ただし、先例の通り御料理を早めに頂戴する旨の断りを同人に申し伝えておいた。
一、水野左近殿も西湖の間の御座席奉行に付くため、よく打ち合わせをしておいた。
一、申し上げの時刻に大広間に回り、高家衆と同席で御奏者番一同が二の間に着座した。出御があり、御目見が済んでから三の間で能楽見物となり、二番目が始まる頃に御料理を頂戴した。席は柳の間の御勝手で頂戴した。
ただし、板倉阿波守も竹の間の御座席奉行を務めているため、同人と申し合わせて御料理を頂戴した。詳細は図の通り。

October 27th
1. Having been ordered to attend the Noh performance celebrating His Excellency the Right General's recovery from smallpox, I dressed in formal noshi-me long kamishimo and went to the castle at around 6 o'clock.
1. When I appeared at my seat during the senior councillors' arrival at the castle, I was informed by Deputy Inspector (metsuke) Tsugita Yozaemon that Makino Suo-no-kami, who was supposed to serve as seat magistrate for the Seiko room today, was ill, and that I should serve in his place.
However, I informed him that I would receive the meal early, as per precedent.
1. Since Mizuno Sakon-dono was also appointed as seat magistrate for the Seiko room, I coordinated well with him in advance.
1. At the time for formal reporting, I went around to the large hall (ohiroma), and together with the high-ranking families (koke-shu), all the protocol officers (sojaban) took their seats in the second room. After the lord's appearance and the formal audience were completed, we watched the Noh performance in the third room. Around the time the second piece began, we received our meal in the Yanagi room's service area.
Note: Since Itakura Awa-no-kami was also serving as seat magistrate for the Bamboo room, I coordinated with him to receive the meal. Details as shown in the diagram.
